It was the next day and Y/N and Ruby were both in the elevator, having been called to Ozpin's office to have a talk about him about what happened yesterday in the communication tower. The h/c haired young man let out a yawn into his hand, having not gotten much sleep last night because of what happened last night in the communication tower as he and Ruby waited for the elevator to reach Ozpin's office.
He and Ruby exchanged glances with each other as the door open when the elevator stopped. Neither of them walked out of the elevator, though and instead waited for it to go upwards again as they hadn't reached the floor they were heading towards, yet. After both of them got themselves into the elevator, Ruby clicked each button in the elevator to make it stop at each floor in order to postpone their meeting with Ozpin a bit.
When asked why she did it, she explained it with nerves. Y/N didn't judge her for it and wasn't annoyed with her for it, though as he didn't blame her for feeling nervous about this meeting. He was feeling quite nervous about it himself as he knew it could go in many ways. If he was honest with him, he would prefer if this meeting went in a more favorable way for him and Ruby for all the obvious reasons.
They reached their destination a few moments later and the doors to the elevator was opened. Y/N and Ruby exchanged one more glances with each other and walked into Ozpin's office. As they stepped further into the office, they saw Ozpin was not alone in it right now. Ironwood and Glynda were present in Ozpin's office as well. Their presence for this meeting didn't suprise Y/N and Ruby, especially since Ironwood was the one who found them last night.
Y/N looked between all three of them with an apologetic look on his face, "Hello. I'm sorry if me and Ruby kept you waiting."
"Someone accidentally hit all the buttons on the elevator on the way up here." Ruby explained why it took her and Y/N this long to reach Ozpin's office, "It wasn't me."
"Thank you for coming, you two." Ozpin replied, letting them know he wasn't angry at them for arriving a bit late, "How are you feeling?"
"Okay, I guess. I'd feel better if my bad-guy-catching record wasn't O-for-three." Ruby gave him an honest answer.
"I'm fine as well." Y/N nodded in agreement, rubbing the back of his head, "I may be a little sleepy right now, because of how long last night was but other than that, I'm fine."
Ruby shifted her gaze between Ozpin, Glynda and Ironwood as all of them silently stared at her and Y/N with stern looks on their faces. She rubbed the back of her head, feeling herself becoming more nervous with each passing second of this meeting, "Okay, so that's the tone we're going for, got it."
Ironwood stepped closer to Y/N and Ruby and shifted his gaze between both of them with a proud look on his face, "Ruby, Y/N, I feel that it's appropriate to let you know that I think what you two did last night is exactly what being huntresses and huntsmen is all about. You recognized a threat, you took action, and you did the very best you could."
"Thank you, sir." Ruby replied to the praise she had just received from him.
Y/N nodded at Ironwood, "Yeah. Thanks, sir."
Ironwood set his eyes on Y/N, setting all of his attention on him when he uttered the next words to him, "Y/N. I won't keep an eye on you for any longer. Your actions yesterday have shown me that there is no need to keep an eye on you and that you have no ill intentions towards any of us."
Y/N smiled at him, "Thank you, sir. I'm glad to see that I managed to prove myself to you."
"Now, the general here has already informed us of the events that... transpired last night." Ozpin said, causing Ironwood to step away from Y/N and Ruby as he got up from his seat, "Now that you've rested, we were wondering if you had anything to add."
