Three days have passed and the school dance at Beacon Academy was only one day away from happening. Y/N, Ruby, Yang and Weiss were in the ballroom. Yang and Weiss were setting up the dance decorations as Ruby and Y/N were sitting at a table, occasionally helping Weiss and Yang whenever either of them asked them for help in something. Yang grabbed a large speaker more than half her size and carried it like it was nothing, slamming it on the ground as Weiss walked over to Ruby and Y/N and put down two squares in the similiar shade of white on the table.
Weiss looked down at Ruby with a smile on her face, pushing the squares towards her teammate, "I need you to pick a tablecloth."
Ruby at the two squares with a questioning look on her face, finding no difference between them. She looked up at Weiss with a confused look on her face a second later, "Aren't they both the same?"
"I don't even know why I asked!" Weiss sighed in frustation and pushed the two squares to Y/N with hopes of getting a different answer from him, "What about you Y/N? Which color do you think is better?"
Y/N shifted his gaze between the two squares and eyed both of them carefully in an attempt to find any difference between them. After a few seconds, he came to one realization. He realized he was on the same boat as Ruby. To him both of them looked the same. He pointed on the one on the right a few seconds later, "...This one?"
"Fantastic choice. Finally someone who understands me." Weiss smiled widely, gladdened by Y/N's choice as Y/N took out his scroll and took a picture of the two squares. Her smile faded away from her face as she looked at him questioningly, "Why did you took a picture of them?"
"No reason." Y/N replied, beginning to type something on his scroll as Weiss silently stared at him in confusion for a few seconds before walking off to go back to her work. The h/c haired young man continued to type on his scroll for a few seconds as he typed the message to the only person he knew could tell him the difference between those two tablecloth colors. This person was Neo.
Y/N L/N: Hey. A quick question.
Y/N L/N: (sent a photo)
Y/N L/N : Can you tell me the difference between those two colors?
Ruby leaned closer to Y/N once Weiss was out of hearing range and whispered to him with a questioning look on her face, "Did you really saw the difference between them?"
Y/N shook his head, his eyes not leaving his scroll, "No. I just choose randomly."
Ruby facepalmed, letting out a groan, "Why haven't I thought of it when Weiss asked me?"
"I dunno." Y/N shrugged as he took his eyes off of his scroll and put it back in his pocket, "Don't worry. I'll make sure we'll learn the difference of those colors soon enough."
Ruby raised her brow, "Really? How?"
"I asked my friend from Vale about it. If everything goes right, she should know the difference between them." Y/N explained.
"I see. We can only hope." Ruby replied as she rested her head on her hand and stared off into the distance.
"You okay?" Y/N asked.
"I just keep thinking about Blake." Ruby answered, "I just wish there was a way to make her come to the dance."
"Yeah." Y/N nodded in agreement, letting out a sigh. He and his roommates tried to convince Blake to go to the dance a few more times over the course of the last few days and unfortunely all of their attempts turned out the same.
Yang brushed her hands as she approached Ruby and Y/N, setting her eyes on her sister, "So, have you picked out a dress yet?"
"What's the point?" Ruby sighed, "Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going?"
