The night of the dance at Beacon had finally come and Y/N was in his and team RWBY dorm, doing some final preperations before he will set off on a journey to the ballroom. The h/c haired young man stared at the reflection of himself in his scroll, making one last check he was looking presentable enough for the dance as he fixed his hair a bit by moving to his right side a bit.
He nodded his head to himself in approval after fixing his hair, satisfied with his looks as he knew he was ready to go to the dance now. He put his scroll in his pocket and looked down at his suit, his dislike of the formal wear refusing to leave the back of his head as he still hated the fact that he was forced to wear this kind of outfit by Weiss and Yang. He wasn't going to complain about it, though as he knew he'd have to wear this for only a few hours and it was rented with Weiss' money so he knew he had to show some gratitude for it by wearing it to the dance.
He shifted his attention away from his suit to the exit from his and team RWBY's dorm. He pushed himself into walk towards it, reaching it a second later and pushed the door open. He walked into the hallway between the dorm rooms of Beacon students and started to make his way towards the ballroom. Upon walking out of Beacon dorms', he saw Sun walking towards the ballroom.
He smiled at the view of his friend and pushed himself into walk towards him, "Sun."
Sun stopped in his tracks for a second and turned around to look at Y/N. He smiled back at him, "Y/N. Good to see you, dude. Are you ready for the dance?"
"I am. Hopefully it won't get boring." Y/N nodded in confirmation as he gestured to Sun's suit. If you could say it a suit. His suit were his normal only his shirt was black and he was wearing a tie that wasn't even tied, "I see they made you wear formal wear. Or rather something which somewhat resembles a suit."
"Yeah. Neptune and Scarlet couldn't stop bothering me about so we agreed to a compromise." Sun nodded in confirmation as he adjusted his tie, letting out an annoyed sigh, "I just wish it didn't include this stupid neck trap. It will be the death of me."
"If you say so." Y/N chuckled. He looked at Sun questioningly a second later, "Speaking of Neptune and Scarlet. Where are your teammates?"
"I don't know where Scarlet and Sage are right now." Sun replied, "I know where Neptune is, though. He should be with Weiss right now, but I'm guessing you already know this." Sun replied.
"Yeah." Y/N nodded in confirmation, "Weiss was excited like a child in a candy store for the dance since Neptune asked her out for the dance yesterday. She even wasn't annoyed when Ruby was being her usual self yesterday."
"I see." Sun chuckled, "It seems like Neptune's effect is working on her."
"Neptune effect?" Y/N couldn't help himself and chuckled, "I like. I think I know how I will be calling Weiss not acting like hersellf from now on."
"Let's patent it." Sun suggested in a joking manner.
Y/N nodded in agreement, going along with the joke, "You can sign up for this."
"I knew you'd look better in a tie." Blake's voice sounded behind them. Y/N and Sun turned around to the source of her voice and saw her standing behind them in her dress and with a smile on her face.
"I'll get going. I'll see you at the dance, man." Y/N turned to look back at Sun and smiled at him, elbowing his friend playfully as he increased his pace to distance himself from them to give them some privacy.
Y/N turned away from Sun and Blake as Blake walked over to Sun and took his arm. The h/c haired young man made his way to the entrance to the ballroom and pushed it open. He pushed the door open and was immediately hit by the sound of a gentle music playing inside it. He closed the door behind him and looked around himself, wanting to see how the decorated ballroom looked like right now.
