We see the Thompson family and their friends camped somewhere near the beach and just about to hit the hay.
John: First thing when we get out of here, we're gonna continue our road trip.
Sonic, Leah, Shimmer, and Nate: Right.
Nightspeed nods.
Shine: *Shivering* First thing tomorrow, I'm finding food.
Later, we see the family and their friends surrounding a campfire.
Jane: *yawns* Alright kids, John and I are off to sleep. You should be too, tomorrow we're hittin' the road.
John and Jane head off to their tents to sleep. Sonic looks around to find someone is missing.
Sonic: Hey where's Shimmer?
Everyone looks around until they find Shimmer talking to some people.
Shimmer: Oh hi guys. I met some new friends. I will admit they're some real interesting people. *to the people* Hey, ya'll come on over!
Leah: I thought this was "our" time. "We" were gonna hang out together. Make our plans.
Shimmer: Hey, we are. But you don't need to keep spontaneity normal.
Leah was left in thoughts as the scene changes to our heroes staring at three people. They're names are Devin, Catalina, and Carl. Devin has tan skin, brown eyes, and long brown hair stylized tied up in a high ponytail with a golden hair tie. She wears a high school cheerleading outfit. Catalina has fair skin, blue eyes, and long sandy blonde hair stylized into messy braided pigtails. She wears jean shorts, multiple bracelets, a necklace, and a white shirt cut at her shoulders. Carl has fair skin, green eyes, short white hair and a beard.

Carl: What brings "you lot" around these parts?
Shine: Who? Us? We're just on a trip.
Carl: Ah, a perfectly innocent trip.

Leah: Call me stupid. But... we're not following.

Carl: We hunt cryptids!
Sonic: What's a cryptid?
Shimmer: They are creatures on the fringes of our perception. Includes Chupacabras, Mothman, Bigfoot, and most especially... Mermaids and sirens!
