"They can't do this!" I heard my mother shout through tears.

"Katniss, calm down." I heard my father say.

"Our daughter is in danger and you're telling me to calm down?"

Me in danger? I pressed my ear harder against the door.

"Well, there is nothing we can do. Real or not real?" my father seemed to ask this a lot.

"Not real! There must be something we can do." Mom gasped. It sounded like she was crying.

"Come on honey, maybe some milk will make you feel better."

"Peeta, do not try to get of the topic." My mother snapped.

"Sorry, I just thought it would make you feel better."

"Nothing can make me feel better."

"Come on, just one glass?"

"FIne, but we need to figure out something to do."

I heard the sound of my parents walking towards the door. I quickly moved into the shadows at the far end of the hall. I had listened in on my parents many times. They usually talked about normal parent stuff, but what could they be so worked up about?

The door opened, filling the hall with light. I pushed myself up closer to the wall. My parents walked out. My father's arms wrapped around my mother who had tears streaming down her cheeks.  They walked towards our kitchen.

"I just can't believe they would do this," My mother said as I snuck closer.

"Honey, she only has her name in twice," My father said, his tone was sad.

"Well Prim was only in there once!" she said slamming her glass against the table.

Mom never talked about my aunt Prim much; she always started crying and going into lockdown mode. Her face would turn white like a sheet of paper and she would start sweating. That's usually were Dad would come in and take her to their bed.

I didn't want to hear anymore. I swiftly ran into my bedroom closing the door quietly behind me. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. I walked over to my bed and sat down. I had no idea what they were talking about, but I knew it had something to do with my safety. I laid down. I watched the light under my door until it was gone and then I fell asleep.
