Chapter 48

Author's Pov

The sun shines brightly in the sky as Ace's private jet flies in the Air. Amelia was sleeping peacefully while Ace was barking orders on the phone, he was furious. 

Ace's eyes wander to the sleeping beauty. He sighed sadly, he was scared that something would happen to her. He already knows the plan of the Spanish mafia and he knows he is doing exactly what they want but he knows he has to do this. 

"I promise that I won't let you die" Ace whispers to Amelia who is still asleep. Everything was quiet, the only sound was the jet's engine. 

"May I have your attention, please? Flight T29N will be landing soon, you are requested to fasten your seatbelts. Thank you" The captain announces. Ace shooks Amelia and she slowly opens her eyes. 

Amelia frowns and looks around, recalling everything. She slumps in her seat and Ace hesitantly fastens her belt, without saying anything. 

After landing, Ace decided to stay at one of his friend's hotels since he and Amelia both were tired. The 7-start hotel was beautifully decorated with golden and white lights outside and inside the hotel. The reception, the lobby, the rooms, the bathrooms each and everything was luxurious. Amelia was shocked to see the hotel. 

"Why are we here, Ace? We have to save my parents! We have to go!" Amelia yells at him as they stand at the center of the room. During the ride from the jet to the hotel, Amelia was asleep and after an hour when she woke up and saw the hotel, she was angry at Ace. 

All she wanted was to save her parents and bringing her to the hotel made her think that Ace just didn't care. 

"Amelia. It's almost night now. We will go tomorrow early, don't worry" Ace states calmly but Amelia shook her head in denial. 

"How can you say that? Do you know how worried I am?!" Ace rolls his eyes at her statement. 

"Then why were you sleeping? If you're so worried then sleep would be the last thing on your mind" He says. 

Amelia opens her mouth to fire back but nothing came out. She pauses, rethinking what he said. Her mind goes black when she realizes what he said was right. 

"You-" Amelia was cut off by a knock. Ace curses silently and goes to open the door only to see the most unexpected person; Lucas, Liam's twin. 

Ace raises an eyebrow at him while Amelia stares at him in shock. A sudden flashback of what happened last time suddenly comes to her mind and She looks down at the floor, trying not to make eye contact with him. 

Noticing the tense atmosphere, Ace clears his throat bringing both of their attention towards him. 

"Why are you here?" Ace questions, his voice cold and distant as if he was always like this but only Amelia knows that all of this is fake. 

Lucas stops looking at Amelia and brings his eyes to Ace. He gently bows, "Everything is set for tomorrow. Our guards will be all around the perimeter of the warehouse and snippets will be hidden far away. Our cars will be ready outside and as soon as you will give the signal, we will start firing" He says in one breath. 

Amelia looks up at him with her mouth open, shocked at his statement. Ace nods, impressed by his work. Giving a slight nod to Lucas, a signal to leave he close the door. 

"We have a long day tomorrow, food is in the other room. Go and eat. I will be back soon" Saying that, Ace once again opens the door and leaves Amelia all alone on her own. 

Amelia sighs and sits down on her bed as tears start flowing out of her eyes.
