Chapter 5 - Confession

Tyler's POV
*Two days later...

I was sitting on my bed scrolling through Instagram when someone rang the doorbell. I heard my mum say she was going to check, so I stayed and kept going through Instagram. I saw a post of Ashley standing with her parents in front of a huge house.

[Me] That isn't her house, is it?

I immediately texted her.
*Texting*
[Me] Hey😊

[Ashley] Hi

[Me] It seems like your parents got a new house.

[Ashley] You saw my post

[Me] Yeah

[Ashley] Yes we got a new house

[Me] Cool

[Ashley] Yh
                This is getting awkward. Gtg

[Me] Ok

[Ashley] Bye

[Me] Bye

That was left unread. I wondered if it was because of our breakup or she was actually finding the conversation awkward.

Tsk. Could it even be called a conversation? I only asked a question and got my answer, what more did I want? I still loved Ashley. I wondered why she suddenly ended things with me. Suddenly my mum called me out.

Amber's POV
I felt guilty. I had come to visit Tyler, but I was too scared to face him. After making the mistake of ringing the doorbell, I ran off and hid. His mum answered the door, but seeing no one there, she went back inside. I sat on my bike and rode off.

Then I got a call from my mum. I didn't answer; this was mostly her fault. She called again and I still refused to answer.

When I got home, I received the lecture of a lifetime.

[Mum] Amber! Where were you? Don't you know we have to get you closer to Tyler? We invited his parents over.

[Me] You did what now? Why?

[Mum] Why not?

[Me] Why didn't you ask me first? Tyler and I are not on-

The doorbell interrupted me. Mum rushed to open it and Tyler and his parents walked in. I was speechless for a while, and then Tyler mouthed, "We need to talk."

I nodded and we sat at the table. Both our parents were talking about business and blah blah, and Tyler kept staring at me. I freaked out; maybe there was a monkey picture on my head.

I just wanted to ask my parents if I could go to the backyard with him so that I could know what he was trying to tell me. As if he read my mind, he asked our parents if he could talk to me outside. They nodded and grinned at me. Oh God!

*When we got outside...*
[Me] So umm...I have something to tell you.

[Tyler] So do I.

[Me] Should I start first? Or you will?

[Tyler] You should start

[Me] No, mine's kinda heavy, you should start

[Tyler] You start

[Me] Promise me you won't get angry and run away

[Tyler] Lol okay I promise

[Me] Okay here goes...umm...
