"Shohei, promise me that you'll visit during the summer?" He smiled. "Of course I will, how could I forget about my best friend?" I cried, I was going to miss him so much, but this was going to be good for him. He wiped my tears away and kissed my forehead. "Take this to think of me when you get lonely." I gasped. "Shohei, no, that's your favorite necklace." he opened my hand and placed it in my palm. "Please, for my peace of mind, take it. When I see you again, then you give it back." I fell into his embrace, sobbing. After the hug broke apart, he put his hands on my shoulders. "this isn't a goodbye, my sweet friend. This is I'll see you later." I nodded my head. He walked away, getting in the car with his parents. I watched as they drove off.

Since that day, I knew I needed to see him again. My friends and I were in LA, Izzy and I were here to visit Liz. We shopped for a bit and had lunch. I felt like every corner we turned, there was a baseball sponsorship of some kind. That's when I noticed a familiar face on those billboards. "Guys, remember my guy best friend that moved like 15 years ago?" They were a bit confused. "Yeah? That was a bit random." I pointed out the billboard. "Thats him."

"Wait, you're friends with shohei Ohtani? Every woman's dream guy?" Elizabeth asked. "Yeah, he was my childhood friend." She stared at me. "You never told me that!" I rolled my eyes. "He is toned AF. "Izzy said, taking her sunglasses off just to stare hard at the billboard. "Will you two stop?" I said disgusted. "Hannah, come on. You know you want him." I grew red in my face. "I plead the fifth."They poked fun at me. "We should totally go to a game." Izzy suggested. "Yeah I can ask my dad if he can get us VIP seating." Liz said texting him. "Guy's this is a bad idea" I protested. "Lets go back to my place and freshen up." They dragged me along. "C'mon Hannah, we're only here for two weeks... have some fun." I shrugged my shoulders and just went along with the plan.

"Can I do your makeup?" Liz asked. I nodded. She and Izzy gave me a makeover. I put on a ball cap backwards with an angels shirt and red converse with ripped Capri's, I took off the hat and fluffed my hair out a bit. I looked cute, but I was still nervous. Likewise, I put my hair up for the moment. We left and headed to the ballpark. After going through security, we got settled in our seats. I looked at my necklace and smiled. Batting practice was going on. The players were a lot taller than I expected. That's when I saw him. My heart leaped out of my chest. He looked better in person than on that billboard. "Hannah, look, there's your man "I shushed them as they snickered about it. "Han, lighten up. Just invite us to the wedding." They both fell out of their seats, I sat there blushing while rolling my eyes.

It makes me remember the time Shohei and I were laying on this hammock, and it was right after I had broken up with my boyfriend Olly, well, he broke up with me. Shohei consoled me and brought me comfort. "If we are 30 and Still Single, I want to marry you." At that moment I started falling for him, I nodded my head. "Promise?" He hummed. "of course." We rocked in the hammock until we both fell asleep. The game was starting, and I must've been in another world. Izzy nudged me, knocking me out of my thoughts. "Hannah, are you okay?" Liz said. "Yeah, just deep in thought, is all.

I looked at the dugout noticing Shohei looking in my direction, but I know he didn't see me, there's numerous people in the front-row section that we're sitting in. That's until he smiled to himself. Before the game started, he walked over to where we were. "Oh my gosh, Hannah?" I nodded. Oh, how I missed the sound of my name rolling off his tongue.
