Grocery store woes

Winter was almost over and soon spring was coming. Our wedding is in 4 days, and I am super nervous about it. I walked out into the kitchen and Shohei was fiddling with the Wi-Fi  box in the living room. "Is everything okay?" I asked. "Yeah, the Wi-Fi went out, so I'm trying to figure out what's going on." The room got quiet, and I started playing with my rings on my fingers. "So, I have a question?" He looked up attentively. "Are you nervous about our wedding day?" He smiled and blushed a bit. "I would be lying if I said I wasn't, but I'm also so excited to make you my wife as well." I smiled. "We're really about to be homies for life."

"Well, I mean, I don't know about the homie part, I don't kiss and make love to my homies." I laughed. "That is true." He concentrated back on the Wi-Fi. "We have to go grocery shopping today, so that should be fun." He mentioned. If there's one thing I hate in the entire world, it's grocery shopping. Shohei doesn't mind it, but the prices usually make my chest hurt. "Yay, that sounds like so much fun." I replied sarcastically. "Don't sound so enthused." "There's a lot of people in grocery stores. My socializing tank is running low today." He looked up at me. "Well, I get that, but it doesn't help that I play baseball neither."

"Exactly why I should stay in the car!" "It'll be fun, and then when we get back home we can order food and watch movies for the night." I thought about it. "You got a deal." We shook on it. "Now that I figured out the Wi-Fi, we can go now." I groaned and mentally started punching the air. "Fine." I grabbed my shoes and we headed out. When we got there, the parking lot was full as hell. I was already over the shopping trip, and we hadn't even made it to the doors. Shohei dragged me by the hand into this place. Two seconds in people were already asking for pictures with Shohei which I didn't mind.

I won't lie, sometimes the attention can be a bit overwhelming. But I can't complain because this is the price you pay for being a baseball girlfriend/wife. Some women were stunning, and I was just sitting here with a hoodie, sweatpants, and a messy bun with my glasses on and two zits on my face. Shohei said goodbye to everyone, and he smiled at me. "You know, you look beautiful today." I just looked at him. "Hannah, you don't need to have makeup on to be the most stunning in the room to me." I blushed. "Thanks babe." I kissed him, and he laced his fingers with mine.

My stomach began to cramp, and I winced in pain, trying not to make it noticeable. "Are you okay?" He asked. "I'm fine, everything is fine." "You're on your period." He whispered. I nodded and clutched my stomach. "Let's get additional things, and we can go home." We got the rest of the things we needed and got in line. In the line we got in, the girl hated her job and it showed. She was the only line opened, sadly.

She was surprisingly nice to us and quickly bagged our things. "Your total is $250." I looked at Shohei. "What the hell did you buy?!" He laughed as he swiped his card. "Food that we needed." I rolled my eyes playfully. "Well, I knew that." We went out to the car and unloaded the groceries. When we got home, Shohei shooed me away from carrying bags into the house. I went into the house and ran a hot shower that usually helps ease the cramps.

"Dinner should be here in like 15 minutes." I nodded. "Sounds good." I finished bathing and went out into the living room and laid on the couch. Going to the grocery store always exhausts me, but this is a new level.

A/N: Apologies that the chapter is short. I figured I write since today hasn't been such a crazy day for me. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading.❤️
