We went into the restaurant, and I was actually excited to try actual ramen, and not the microwave stuff. The waiter showed us to our table and we sat down. Shohei held my hands in his, rubbing circles on the back of mine.

"I really do apologize for everything that happened. I should've told you when I first saw her, but I would rather not cause any problems between you two." I nodded in understanding. "I genuinely understand it. It's just that it overwhelmed me because that was a massive secret. From now on, though, no more secrets." He agreed. "I promise." The waiter came to our table. "Would you like to put an order in yet?" I nodded. "I would like a water and the Banshu Ramen please." Shohei looked at the menu. "I'll take the Kyoto Assari, and a green tea please." The waiter took our menu's. "Your orders will be right out!" He said going to get our drinks.

"I'm almost falling out of this seat." I laughed. "They don't make this shit for tall people." He said, laughing along with me. "Do you want another seat?" He denied the offer. "No, I can manage. It's just I'm surprised that it's the 21st century, and we aren't making bigger chairs for big framed, tall people." "You should totally advocate for tall people around the world." Tears streamed down his face as he laughed. "Can you imagine doing whole assemblies?" "I can't even talk to 3 people, what makes you think I can talk to thousands about the matter?" "I don't know. You play in front of thousands of people and —" "but I don't talk, I play. That's the keyword."

Our food came out and it looked delicious. We both barely said a word as we ate our meal. Just being in his company made me feel so, what's the word?— bubbly inside. Even though we have some things to work on, I feel happy that I still get to be with him. After dinner, we went on an adventure. He walked me to a park with astonishing cherry blossoms. I was awed by the beauty as the sunset hit the petals so beautifully. "This is so gorgeous." I said, still stuck in a daze. "Like you?" I blushed and hid my face into his arm. I went to go touch a tree. "They smell delightful." I said, turning around. "Cherry Blossoms are the first thing you think of when you think about Japan." I nodded. We kept strolling and I saw a picture booth.

I dragged Shohei to it. After the thing took our photos, they printed out. The first one, we made the silliest faces. The second one, he grabbed some of my hair and made a mustache with it as I laughed. The third one, we just looked each other in the eyes. Last but not least, the fourth one was, of course, we shared a kiss together. I was so obsessed by them. "I've always wanted to do that but, I've never had anyone to do it with." He rested his chin on my shoulder as I was sitting in his lap. "Why didn't you just do it by yourself." "If that were the case, I could've just did it for free with my phone." He laughed. "That is true."

I looked at the time. "Oh, it's getting late. I should probably go home, so I can go to bed for work in the morning." "I should probably do the same thing since I have baseball practice. I will drive you home." He said, kissing my hand. We walked back to his car and he drove me back to my apartment. He walked me to the porch, and I couldn't shake the feeling of want, and need. "Shohei, please stay with me tonight?" He nodded. "Of course." I unlocked the door to my apartment and turned on the lights. "This is a nice set-up. Feels really cozy." I smiled. "Yeah, I try to make this apartment a home, but I just want to own a house at this point. Rent is extremely expensive anymore and— I don't know, I just feel that this isn't home."

"Is it because you live alone?" I shrugged. "I sense that you're home to me. Every single second spent with you feels like home. That's why I don't want you to go." A smile crept on his face as he blushed. "I was going to wait until a perfect time to ask, but there isn't one." He took my hand. "Being your best friend was the best thing I could've ever done. I always knew there was something special about you the first day I saw you. I honestly had a bit of a crush on you, but I didn't mind waiting. When I had to move, I dreaded that day because I knew you weren't going to be there. When I saw you again in LA, I knew that it was my chance to show you the feelings I've had towards you for so long. When you left, my heart felt like it was ripped from my chest. As corny as it sounds, you're my heart outside my body. I love you so much, and I know we've just started seeing each other, but I already know you. Please do me the complete honor and be my wife?" He kneeled and I began sobbing.

"Shohei is this real?" He nodded. "Yes, I will be your wife." He slid the beautiful ring on my finger. "How did—" "when we were younger, I always remembered how you said you wanted a ring like your mother. So after getting your dads blessing. He helped me pick out the ring." I was shocked. "How did you know I was going to come back?" He chuckled. "I didn't know, but I told myself if it was meant to be, then it was going to happen." I smiled. "When did my dad get in on it?!" "When I got back last week. Why do you think your friend asked you to go to a game?" I was even more astonished. "Emi was in on this, but she was surprised to see you." He laughed. "She's my favorite cousin. You work at my family's café." All of this was so much.

"Oh you're good." He laughed. "We couldn't give you any clues." I laughed and kissed him passionately. "Hannah, on a serious note, I would give all of this up just to be with you. I love you, my sweet girl." I was unable to stop looking at the ring, I was so shocked. This is really happening.

"Is it too early for a proposal?" He thought about it. "A man knows when he wants to be with a woman that he really loves. I knew I wanted to marry you when we first made love. I knew instantly how you made my heart beat out of my chest and how you treated me so well. Not only that, but I tried dating and none of the women were you. To some, yes, I proposed early, but, to others they see that we've been best friends, I know you and you know me. We've seen each other at our complete worse, but we both chose to be there for each other. When you know, you know." I smiled. We got around for bed and I led him to my room. We laid down, and I snuggled him as he wrapped his arms around me. "I love you." I looked up. "I love you too, my sweet boy." He laughed and kissed me. I turned off the lights, and we then fell asleep.
