Today was the day, we were finally going to decorate the house, but first we had to buy the decorations. We went to the arts a crafts store where they sold tons of decor. I dragged Shohei by the hand, and he smiled to himself. "You know? Seeing you like this is adorable to me." I flashed a smile. "Christmas is my favorite holiday. The only thing that I don't like is when people put Christmas decor out right after Halloween, as if Thanksgiving isn't a thing!" "I've always hated that." He said as he grabbed a cart.

We got a Christmas tree and much more. I was ready to bake cookies and watch hallmark movies! Shohei doesn't know, but he's joining me in all the festivities. "Do you like Christmas?" I asked. "I never really got the concept of some big fat guy in a red suit climbing in chimneys and giving kids presents. He's basically breaking into houses and stealing cookies too." I laughed.

"Christmas is more than that, it's about spending time with loved ones and just being joyful. It's so much fun." I said getting a little too passionate. "But I promise it will be fun." "I believe it." He said, kissing me. "Just listening to you talk about it makes me excited."

We bought all of our decorations and went back to the house to decorate. We decorated the staircase and fireplace, but my favorite part was putting the Christmas tree up. "Alright, you read the directions, and I'll put the tree up." Shohei said. I nodded and grabbed the instructions. He pulled out the pieces, but then realized it only came in 3 pieces. "What the hell? When did fake Christmas trees get so easy to hang up?!" He asked. I shrugged, ditching the instructions and just figuring out myself. "Good question." We put the tree up, and now it was time to decorate it. "This is fun." Shohei said putting the bulbs on the tree. It was so cute watching him as he was really getting into it.

He then walked away briefly and came back with a box. He handed it to me and I looked up at him confused. "Just open it." He said, smiling. I opened the box, and it was a picture ornament of him and me on our first date. I smiled to myself and tried not to cry. "Shohei, I adore this." "I knew you would." He said, kissing me. We hung it up together, and then he helped me up on his shoulders to put the star on. After, we stepped back and looked at the tree. "Would you like to do the honors and turn on the lights?" He nodded and turned them on, and the tree looked stunning.

As we decorated the rest of the house, we sang along to songs and laughed at each other for doing goofy dances. "I think we should totally make Christmas cookies tonight." "I'm a horrible baker, I burn cookies." He replied. "Well, you can decorate." I suggested. We began making the dough for the cookies, and Shohei "accidentally" threw flour at me. I laughed as it painted my face white. "Sorry, my hand slipped." I then took some frosting and rubbed it on his face. "Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to do that." He then tried kissing me, and I tried pushing him away.

We cleaned off our faces and proceeded to make the cookies. He rolled out the dough and I grabbed the cookie cutters. "Thank you for showing me how fun it is to decorate for Christmas. I am having a really fun time." I kissed and hugged him. "No problem. You actually have made this the best. I never really had anyone to decorate." "Well now you have me forever." I smiled. "I'm definitely not complaining about that."

We cut the cookies out and threw them in the oven. I sat on the couch while Shohei started the fire in the fireplace. "Remember when we were kids, and we built snow forts." He nodded. "Those were the days, even though the snowballs felt like complete rocks." I laughed. "You aren't the one that took one to the face." He felt remorse. " I still feel bad to this day about that. My parents were so mad at me for that." I hugged him. "It's not like you meant it." "I actually did. You made me mad because you took my fort, remember?" I thought about it. "Oh yeah, now I remember. It was capture the fort, and you got butt hurt because you lost so you used that pitching arm of yours." "When you put it that way, it sounds horrible." He said, trying not to laugh. "When we were kids, we were stupid as hell." He nodded. "Some of the things we did was idiotic."

The timer went off, which meant the cookies were done. We finished decorating them and I made hot cocoa to go with them. We ate a few and watched hallmark movies, which Shohei hated. "Ew, why are these movies so cheesy?!" "You take that back!" I said laughing. "Babe, they're all the same story plot, and you have the nerve to be crying." I laughed. "I totally was not crying, I got some flour in my eyes." He rolled his eyes playfully. "I honestly love you." He said, kissing me and pulling me closer to him. "I love you too, babe."

We called it a night and got around for bed. We snuggled up with each other as he played with my hair and kissed my forehead. "Thank you for loving me Shohei, I know it isn't easy." He tucked my hair behind my ear. "I find loving you effortless. It's easy to fall in love with a woman like you. With your kind and gentle personality, or your beautiful heart towards others. Your character is what makes me fall in love with you all over every day. No need to thank me, it's my part to love you always." He kissed my forehead once more. He continued to play with my hair until I fell asleep.
