"I was never your friend, so why would I confide in you?" She said, smirking. "I've always hated you because you took him from me. He was my best friend first." I shook my head. "Well, you can have him because I don't want him." I got my suitcase and began packing my bag. "I hope you two get that arranged marriage that you want too. Your snake asses are meant for each other."  Izzy walked out and Liz stayed. "Are you going to be okay?" I nodded. "I will be. I'm just not going home with her. I can't stand to look at him right now. Not only that, but I just need time to process all of this."

"If you need anything, Hannah, please just let me know." She hugged me and left the room.

I finished packing my bags and made sure I was leaving nothing behind. I was leaving early in the morning for my plane. I fell asleep in hope tomorrow will come quickly so that I don't have to be here any longer than I have to be.

"Hannah." I heard a voice whisper. I turned around to see an 8-year-old Shohei. "Would you like to play Princess and the dragon?" I nodded. "Sounds fun." He grabbed my hand, pulling me to the playground we usually play it at. He had a friend named Ian who tagged along. "Okay, so Ian will be the dragon, I'm going to be the one who saves you." I smiled, he always did like protecting me. We played Princess and Dragon at the end of him saving me dream me kissed him on the lips. Both of our faces turned red as we pulled away from the kiss. "Want to be my-" the dream cut off, and it melted my heart. I remember that. I felt so conflicted because Shohei did hide a secret, but he's trying to be the bigger person.

I got around to the airport. I was finally going back home to see my family. Liz dropped me off, and I went through security and baggage claim before waiting for my flight. I noticed that the Angels were playing today against the Yankees. I watched as they showed Shohei on screen. He looked upset, and I could tell he didn't get sleep last night. I looked away from the TV and put my AirPods in.

I noticed a text from him and I opened them.

Shohei
8:30am
"I know I'm the last person you want to hear from. I get it, but, I would like to make things right. You don't have to love or be with me. When we were younger, our parents were talking about an arranged marriage, but talks were off after my parents realized that it's my choice. Yes, I dated her, but for only 2 days and nothing happened between us. You don't have to respond, but I just wanted to get my side out. Izzy has always been jealous of you, and I'm sure when we became something more she schemed about how she could break us apart and her plan ended up working. I love and wish the best for you."

Tears streamed down my face. I would rather not be mad at him anymore. Maybe leaving was a huge mistake on my part. I should've just listened to what he had to say, but I was so hurt by the situation at the moment. He's not going to take me back, I told him I hated him and that he can go to hell.

I boarded my plane and the flight home was long and grueling. I wanted to just forget everything that happened and let things go back to normal.

*******
It's been a month since I've been home, and I've healed somewhat. I couldn't help but miss Shohei. I went back to work at this local coffee shop. A few customers walked in and there were a couple holding hands and being all romantic. I couldn't help but to think where would've my relationship gone with him. Perhaps he may be seeing someone. I'm mad that I even let anyone break us up.

It was the baseball off season and my friend from work, Emi had gotten tickets for a baseball game with the Japan team. It was almost my time to clock out, so I could go. After work, I walked back to my apartment and got dressed for the game. I met her at the stadium, and we were just in time for batting practice. "I don't think I've ever been to a baseball game in Japan." She smiled. "All the women here just come to see their star player. He plays in America, and then he comes here for the off season." That's when I seen him. He was laughing and playfully pushing his friend. He did stretches before running a bit to warm up before the game.

"Shohei." I said underneath my breath. "Isn't he cute?" Emi asked. I nodded. "Yeah he is." He looked over and did a double take. I motioned for him to come here. "I wasn't expecting to see you here." He said shocked. "I wasn't expecting you to be here, either." I said laughing. "Would you like to grab dinner with me after the game, so we can talk?" I nodded. "That would be nice." "Are you still my good luck charm or no?" I blushed. "Of course I am. I love you and support you in everything." His face began to turn red. "I love you too, my sweet girl." He said, rubbing circles on the back of my hand with his thumb.  I caressed the side of his face and kissed him. "Play good for me, shotani." He winked at me and went back to the dug out to get ready for the game. "What the hell was that?" Emi asked, shocked. "I've been working with you for 3 years now, and you never once mentioned you were dating him!"

"We started off as best friends, and then he left for America. Subsequently, I went to America to visit a friend. We went to a baseball game, and we ended up rekindling our friendship before it turned to something more." I explained. "Oh okay, isn't that the 2-3 week trip you took?" I nodded my head. "Oh my gosh, Hannah, I am so happy for you! Is it okay if I say hi to him after the game?" I nodded. "Of course, I don't see why not." I smiled at her.

Throughout the whole game, Shohei stole glances at me. I would be lying if I said I didn't either. The game was ending and they lost 6-5. Emi and I went to meet with him near the locker rooms. He put his bags down, and I jumped into his arms. "I missed you so much." I murmured in his shirt. "I know, I missed you too." Emi cleared her throat. He put me down. "This is my friend Emi, I work with her from the coffee shop." He shook her hand. "Nice to meet you." She smiled. "Likewise. I better get going, it's getting late."  I hugged her and she left. I held Shohei's hand as we walked to his car and drove to his favorite ramen restaurant.

He opened my door for me and helped me out. He then pinned me against it. I bit my lip. "God, I missed you." He said as he lifted my chin with his finger. Our lips crashed, and his big frame engulfed my body. I smiled and pushed him off playfully. "Damn, you're feisty when you get hungry." I laughed and pecked his lips.

A/N: I usually hate doing time skips because, then I feel like the story feels rushed. I don't know lol. But I hope you all enjoy this. Thank you for the support!❤️🫰🏾
