Please don't forget me,
When your garden is filled with roses,
When your hands bleed by their thorns,
Don't you blame me, my love.
I wish against fate,
I wish against nature,
I wish against myself
That we never change, my love.
But I know quite well,
I'd rather burn in hell
Then hold you back
With the baggage of worldly insecurities.
So I'll stay strong my love,
Because if there's no you,
There is no me.
Oh I can fight the monsters,
Dance in the disasters,
Be it fire, rain or hail;
But not when there's no us.
Not when I have no cornerstone,
No engraved gravestone -
With the eulogy of our battles.
I'm afraid I'm too weak this time,
I can't hold you near, my dear,
But won't you stay close and keep me warm,
When my fireplace is a frozen storm?
I'm afraid my jasmine will fade
Behind those roses.
And what cowardly irony,
I was the one who prayed sun
For their growth and well-being.
Now to back away
When their beauty outlives mine,
Is besides me, my love.
But all I ask is,
Don't forget me my dear
For this time I'll be too weak.
A little too weak...
