DELILAH LAID IN HER HOSPITAL BED, HER MOTHER AND FAMILY AROUND HER. She had explained to them everything that had happened in the farm house. Her mother gripped her hand.
Suddenly, there was a knock at her door. She looked up and saw Randy with a walker. She smiled at him.
"We'll give you 2 some privacy." Her mother said. Delilah's family left the room leaving Randy and Delilah.
"How're you holding up?" Randy asked. Delilah's eyes filled with tears.
"God, I'll never get Tatums body out of my mind, Randy." Delilah sobbed. "You and Sid are the only ones I have left."
Randy stumbled over to his best friend and laid beside her in the bed. He put his arm around her and rubbed her hair as she sobbed into his chest, being sure to avoid his bullet wound.
"I just can't believe she's gone." Delilah cried. "It's not fair!"
"I know." Randy sighed. Delilah opened her eyes to look into Randy's. They began to lean in and their lips finally touched.
They stayed like that for a moment before pulling away.
