POV Carter
My eyes skimmed over the small page, the fine letters were written in silver, hand written. "What does any of that mean?" Asked Kaitlyn who was hugging her knees to her chest, Eric's worry stricken face never turned away from his girlfriends.
"It sounds like something from a movie, a prophecy or riddle." Paige said, you can hear an underlying excitement. She was right, it did sound like something from a movie. "Can I see it?" She asked after a short silence. I nodded and passed in over, our finger tips touching. That was enough to make me take her other hand and sit by her side.
Her beautiful blue eyes studying the elegant text, through the lenses of her glasses.
Her eyes pulled to me, as she was distracted. The color was blue, but there was almost a ring of hazel around the pupil. She looked at me and blushed when she noticed my gaze. "W-well the um..." her eyes fell from mine, her blush now very apparent. Her grip on my hand tightened before she continued. "I think I figured majority of it out..." she looked down at the paper."Eight gems of light, four pairs of love, and a dark opposing threat. A pair intertwined neither shall stray from the other or hell fire consumes." She took another short pause as if to reassure herself. She looked up from the page, meeting the eyes of our friends.
"Well there are eight gems and they did glow. If you look you can see that each couple here does have coordinating colors." Everyone looked down at their partner's necklace and then at their own, she was right. I had red and she had pink. "So it seems like that's what that part means. But I can't say I'm right about this next part, when it says 'dark, growing evil' I think that there is somethings out there, something monstrous..." there was tension in the air now, like a heavy cloud making it harder to breathe. She continued after a second more. "When it says 'A pair intertwined' I'm positive that these crystals," she said lifting hers up as highs as she could. "Have created a bond between all of us but a fierce, powerful bond between each pair, or couple. So strong that when we attempt to distance ourselves from our significant other we will burn with the ferocity of" she looked down at the page. "Hell fire..."
"No kidding." Mumbled Kaitlyn as she glared at nothing. Eric pulled her tighter.
"Wait, why didn't it effect Eric too?" Questioned Axel. We all turned towards him.
"What did you want me to burn?" Asked Eric with a small smirk on his face, lines of worry still clung to his forehead despite the playful remark.
POV ERIC
I looked over at Kaitlyn, she was still clinging to her knees but she had definitely cooled down. "Well there is a simple way to figure it out, but I'm sure that no one will like it..." Tara stated .
"What?" Inquired Raven.
"Well we can experiment" she said weakly. This idea intrigued me, but Kaitlyn stood up.
"NO. The pain was excruciating, and none of you need to experience it!" I grabbed her hand so that she faced me her chocolate eyes flashing with anxiousness.
"You and I can do the experimenting so that they don't have to go through it" I pointed out. I wanted to know how she felt, how to comfort her. She stared deep into my eyes.
"You don't understand" She said looking down. "It feels like you are being incinerated. You are literally asking to burn alive." her goal was to sway my thoughts. I knew she wouldn't stop me just like I could never stop her from doing something she wanted to do.
"If you can do it, I'm sure that I can endure." I said as she searched my eyes.
POV Chase
Eric stood up. Kaitlyn looked as if all she wanted to do was stop him, but I don't understand what's holding her back.
