POV Eric

A few days had gone by since the incident at the 'Thanks a Latte Cafe'. Things had calmed down drastically since then. Kaitlyn had woken up, the next morning. But, at the moment I was the center of attention. Kaitlyn almost never left my side, always making sure my foot was propped up comfortably and applying disinfectant cream to my wounds.

Sadly, I was stuck in this armchair. Kaitlyn tried to convince me to lay in bed, but everyone was always up here. I didn't want to be kept out of the gossip. No one left the house for more than an hour, only shopping trips allowed. No demonic activity seemed to follow us to the cottage, which eased our anxiety.

Tara pulled out a board game, Monopoly. Kaitlyn was bouncing on the cushion next to her. "I call the dog!" She squealed, as soon as it was in site she snatched it, holding it close. Paige grabbed the car, Tara grabbed the Train, and Axel pulled out the top hat. I slouched back in the arm chair.

"NO, screw you!" Kaitlyn cried, falling back on the couch in defeat. The game had finally come to an end, Axel just beat Kaitlyn.

"Maybe less talking and more skill would help you." Axel sneered as he began to put the game away. Kaitlyn put on a frown.

"I have skill." Kaitlyn grumbled.

"You," Axel paused to close up the box. "Have a big mouth." It was true... just a little bit. She started off with smart remarks and boastful comments, rambling about how she never lost monopoly. I closed my eyes, waiting for the arguing to die down. Tomorrow our angel would supposedly show up.

"Wake up!" yelled a husky feminine voice. I jumped a bit in my seat, as the front door pushed open. "Rise and shine!" A women in camo attire marched down the steps to the basement. She blew the whistle that she had on her neck. "Hut, two three four." Quickly everyone was sitting down in the living room, watching as the drill Sergeant molded into a teenage girl, no older than us, it could only be Jane.

"Good morning, guys!" she greeted happily.

"Was all that was necessary?" Tara yawned.

"Well, no... But I like to have a little fun." Jane had joyful smile on her face.

"So what do we do next, we all survived" Carter asked, cutting straight through to the point.

"Calm down jeez, we aren't in any rush. I suggest patching him up, first." She said, gesturing to me.

"I'll go get more bandages" Kaitlyn piped in and stood up.

"No, we don't need them." Kaitlyn's head cocked to the side, everyone's expression quizzical. "I am an Angel, I do have some power." Jane said as she pulled out a golden, and silver glass spray bottle, from what seemed to be nothing.

"What's that?" Kaitlyn questioned.

"Holy water." Jane stated. "Not just blessed water, it came from river of the water of life flowing from the Almighty's throne." she proclaimed. "To you it would be as much to you as blessed water, but to an angel," she paused and sprayed a bit onto each shoulder and my ankle. "We can do almost anything." I could feel that under the bandages the holes were sealing together and my ankle was twisting into the right position. I unwrapped the bandages, and stood up, there was no pain.

"Where can I get some of that stuff?" Chase inquired. Jane gave a small giggle.

"Before I forget there is something I have been instructed to give each of you." Jane announced, not giving me time to thank her. In her hand appeared eight metal boxes, it reminded me of the shape of post it notes. They were in the colors of our crystals, so I knew immediately that mine would be the Sapphire blue, box. We hesitantly took one, under her ordering gaze. When it fell into my hand it seemed much heavier than I anticipated it to be, I held it in my palm, noticing that there was a thin metal flap, similar to that of an envelope ."Don't unfold-" she began, but it was too late I had already lifted the flap, it quickly unfolded into a metal, a sword the hilt was a cross. I had to hold it with two hands. "Nobody else attempt to unfold theirs yet," Jane screeched, irritated. She snatched the weapon from me, and swiftly folded a piece at the bottom, causing the whole thing to fold back into the small metal box. "This is your weapon, which you will use ONLY on demons you encounter."
