POV Tara

I exhaled heavy breathes. It had started to drizzle and the weather wasn't necessarily warm. We trudged on, turning behind us to make sure that we weren't being followed by that abomination. We would have called someone to pick us up but everyone left their phones behind. I was the only one who had mine on me, but of course it was dead. 'Why couldn't you just got off your lazy butt and charged it last night?'

Kaitlyn had hit her head on the corner of a side table when I saved her from Raven's gigantic TV, she was knocked out. Eric was cradling her as he walked. We continued forward on the side of the highway. Unlike I originally hoped, no one stopped to ask if we needed a ride.

"I vote we head to our place. It's not that far from here." Axel suggested over the noise of passing cars.

"It's not far when driving on a highway, but we are walking, idiot." Eric called out.

"It's still closer than anyone else's house." He stated. We were coming up to a tiny overpass, when God decided to make it pour.

"Seriously!" Paige screamed up into the air, throwing her hands up.

"It burns!" Raven wailed, the wind mixed with the rain made my skin hurt. Raven and Chase must be hurting.

"Under the overpass" I screamed over the rain. We began sprinting, passing cars throwing gravel and dirty water up at us. A clap of thunder jump started our pace.

We slid down the small hill and ran under the overpass. We barely fit underneath with all of us. Rain poured down on either side a small space in the middle divided us Paige, Carter, Eric, and unconscious Kaitlyn were on one side and the rest of us were on the other. A small stream was flowing through, further dividing us.

"Well this sucks." Chase announced, he was right this did suck. Raven's house has been demolished by some weird bony creature, we can't get these necklaces off, and I can't be more than fifty feet away from Axel. I put all of my weight on to Axels shoulder, he in return put his arm around my waist. 'Not that I want to be.'

He leaned his head on top of mine. I tuned out the rain and passing cars and focused on his heart beat, his breathe.

POV Eric

I looked down at Kaitlyn's face. She had droplets of water on her eyelashes which fell down her cheek. Her damp, brown hair clung to her face. One of my arms was supporting her head, with my free hand I moved the wet clumps of matted hair to the side. I pulled her closer to me so that I was more comfortable. The only thing keeping me sane was the faint rise and fall of her chest.

Scenes from earlier clouded my vision. Kaitlyn had originally fallen when the house went to hell, moving her in front of Raven's flat screen. I remember it so clearly, seeing the screen begin to tilt forward, her scream, Tara's quick movement. All of it was unreal. When Kaitlyn didn't respond after Tara pushed her into me, I wasn't sure if she was alive. I just hoped I wasn't dragging her life less corpse out.

As I sit here an aching begins in my arms, Kaitlyn wasn't particularly heavy, quite light actually, but after running for who knows how long, I can understand where it's coming from. I heard a quiet groan escape through her close lips. Her peaceful, relaxed face, was replaced an expression that could only be explained as uncomfortable. Her eyes fluttered open, and she immediately sat upright. I hadn't realized that everyone else had dozed off already. I could see that Kaitlyn was about to shout, so I put my hand over her mouth and turned her towards me. I placed a finger over my lips, she nodded in understanding. Her frightened eyes absorbing her surroundings. I removed my hand. "What happened?" She whispered in her rare serious tone.
