I feel like a lot of trailers (or teasers for that matter) nowadays tend to spoil everything. I am talking about how we've already seen half of the movie or episodes that all of that hype is gone.
In fact, they're supposed to give you a glimpse of the central plot, characters or setting while still allowing us to think about what's gonna happen next. I understand we all have different methods of marketing our works and wanna stand out more.
This chapter shall break down everything to know about making a creative trailer or teaser for your future projects.
A trailer captures the beginning, middle, and end of a particular movie in a three-act structure. A teaser, on the other hand, captures an intense clip from the movie without any relevant arrangement. It's kind of like a sneak peek.
I remember releasing a teaser of "BIOMETRICS II" back in 2021 and made it an opportunity to introduce a new character. This one is set up to be darker where something must have happened to this mysterious agent. Because this is a graphic novel, I have to add some captions to convey what's going on. If it was made in video format, it would be just be a minute long.
Once you understood these two, you are able to save yourselves from spoilers. The greatest thing you could give to your potential audience is anticipation. Don't you just love the feeling of excitement as you go pick up a book to see what the hype is all about?
