So here's a quick concept of how the characters for my upcoming book "CASE AX-17." From left to right, there's Kira Rosenthal, Devi Khan, Ismail Al-Masri and Chester Navarro.
NOTE:From what I've read (correct me if I'm wrong), wearing a hijab isn't mandatory unless you live in a pretty hardcore Muslim country. Since they live in a country like Axial where dress codes aren't that strict, she could go out without having to cover up. Instead, it's her own parents that are against her fashion choices and lucky she got to move out of their home where she can be free to do whatever she wants.
Another thing to know is the title is not yet official as I have other ideas for how I want the book to be called. Maybe something a bit cooler like "AX-17" or "POINT: KIRA" — which is basically "point to Kira" and also derived from the Hebrew word ikar which roughly translates to the core or focus. I know it can be frustrating to see these sudden changes but hey! Just know I'm still figuring things out myself and sometimes changing your mind can signify growth.
UPDATE: Here's the final verdict! The official title will be "AX-17: THE KIRA DIARIES."
