chapter nine.

Za'nara was walking along the shore the night after the sleepover when Aonung ran up to her.

"Hey you!" Ao'nung greeted her, running up next to her.

"Oh hey Ao'nung." Za'nara replied.

"We didn't get much of a chance to talk last night." Ao'nung explained. "I was hoping we could get to know each other a bit better."

"Yeah it was a crazy night. We didn't get too talk much." Za'nara replied.

"Maybe we could hangout?" Ao'nung hinted.

"Yeah sure, when?" Za'nara asked.

"I'm free now, if you want to go for a swim." Ao'nung replied.

"Yeah that sounds fun." Za'nara replied to his suggestion.

"Okay cool, I'll show you around the island."

The two took off in the water and mounted their ilus and raced around the island for a couple hours.

They came upto the surface laughing.

"I nearly had you back there!" Ao'nung laughed.

"Can't believe a forest girl like me, beat you!" Za'nara joked.

"Your a fast learner, that's for sure!" Ao'nung replied.

On the other side of the island, Neteyam and Lo'ak were training.

"Nice shot!" Neteyam yelled as Lo'ak hit a bullseye with his arrow.

"Thanks bro." Lo'ak replied.

"Hey can I ask you something?" Neteyam asked Lo'ak.

"Shoot." Lo'ak replied.

"What happened on the beach with you and Za'nara last night?" Neteyam asked curiously.

"We just talked." Lo'ak lied.

"Just talked?" Neteyam questioned.

"Um yeah, just talked." Lo'ak replied.

"What about?" Neteyam asked.

"You know, stuff." Lo'ak replied.

"Well what stuff?" Neteyam asked.

"What's with all the questions bro?" Lo'ak asked.

"Call it curiosity." Neteyam replied.

"Okay, she told me she doesn't hate us anymore, and that she's trying to embrace her old self." Lo'ak explained.

"That all?" Neteyam asked.

"Okay fine, she mentioned what you said to her." Lo'ak confessed.

"Crap." Neteyam replied.

"We almost kissed-" Lo'ak said hesitantly.

"You what!" Neteyam yelled.

"Why didn't you tell me you still had feeling for her?" Lo'ak asked.

"Why didn't you tell me you did?" Neteyam questioned.

"Well I didn't plan on nearly kissing her, it was a spur of the moment." Lo'ak replied.

"Was this before or after she told you what I said?"

"After." Lo'ak replied hesitantly.

Neteyam scoffed.

"She thinks that the only reason you told her all that is because your jealous of Ao'nung." Lo'ak explained.

"Well what does she expect, there always laughing and joking together, don't act like it doesn't bother you too." Neteyam replied.
