chapter twenty-two.
"Come on Lo'ak! You're not going to get your ass kicked by a girl are you!" Za'nara yelled as she raced through the water, around the island.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, darling. I'm just warming up!" Lo'ak yelled back.
Za'nara laughed and dove down into the water, cutting him off through the kelp. They raced around the village, speeding past Jake who was riding with Neytiri, Toniwari and some of the other clans men.
"I'm gaining on you!" Lo'ak yelled.
"In your dreams, Sully!"
As they raced past Neytiri and Jake, Jake and Neytiri couldn't help but smile as they watched them, racing around having fun. Just how they used to with their Ikrans.
"Do they remind you of anyone?" Jake asked Neytiri.
"They remind me of us, Ma Jake. We were just like them when we were younger." Neytiri smiled.
"Za'nara keeps Lo'ak in check, that's for sure." Jake replied.
"Just like how I used to keep you in check." Neytiri related.
Jake smiled at her.
"Lo'ak's in love with her." Neytiri stated. "I see the way he looks at her. Like she's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen."
"Really?" Jake asked.
"How can you not see it? He's loved her since he was little, they were always inseparable then, and now, they're rarely ever apart." Neytiri explained. "Their just like we were."
"I did notice they spend a lot of time together, maybe that's what he's been hiding." Jake replied. "Maybe she feels the same way about him."
"She's good for him. He's happier when she's around." Neytiri explained. "He makes her forget about everything she's been through."
Jake smiled and turned to Neytiri.
"I see it."
At the very moment Lo'ak caught Za'nara and pulled her into the water. Jake and Neytiri both laughed and smiled seeing them both so happy.
"Caught you." Lo'ak said to her.
"Maybe I let you catch me." Za'nara replied.
"Either way I'm not complaining." Lo'ak smiled. "I'll chase you forever if I have to."
"I really want to kiss you right now." Za'nara smiled.
Lo'ak smiled and pushed her head under water. Za'nara looked at him with confusion before he placed his hand on her cheek and kissed her. They came back up to the surface and smiled.
"I've been thinking." Za'nara said to Lo'ak.
"That's dangerous." Lo'ak replied.
"Will you shut up for two seconds." Za'nara laughed.
Lo'ak used his fingers and pretended to zip his lips, nodding so Za'nara could continue.
"Maybe we should tell your parents or the clan that we are seeing each other, not about the other things we did but that we are head over heels for one another." Za'nara explained. "I love you and I don't want to have to hide anymore."
"I think that's a great idea, I want to be able to hold you whenever I want without having to be sneaky anymore, I love you so much. Let's not keep this a secret anymore." Lo'ak replied.
Za'nara smiled brightly and hugged him instantly after he said that.
"Let's start with your parents." Za'nara whispered.
