chapter 28...
"Lo'ak!" Za'nara screamed as the group continued to follow Lo'ak out past the reef.
Lo'ak turned around and began to have second thoughts about the way he went about this. He pushed those thoughts away and continued swimming out to Payakan.
He made it out to the reef and began to call Payakan's name.
"Payakan!" Lo'ak yelled, waving his arm in the air to signal him. "Brother!"
Payakan emerged from the water, Lo'ak noticed that there was something wrong as Payakan sulked.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Lo'ak asked him, as Payakan whined in pain.
Payakan turned his body over to reveal the tracker that was emerged in his body.
"Shit!" Lo'ak yelled, jumping off his ilu and swimming fast towards Payakan, climbing up his body and towards the tracker. "Stay calm, stay calm. I got this."
Lo'ak began to tug on the tracker using as much force as possible, but failed to pull it out. He turned to the right to see a large ship with boats around it heading towards them.
"Shit!"
"Lo'ak!" Neteyam yelled, launching his body onto Payakan and climbing up next to his brother.
"Bro come on, help me out!" Lo'ak yelled desperately.
Neteyam ran up Payakan's back and seen the demon ship not far away.
The rest of the group swam up onto Payakan. Neteyam grabbed both Tsireya and Za'nara's hands and lifted them up on to Payakan's back.
"Oh fuck." Za'nara cried out, as she seen the ship. "We gotta work fast!"
Ao'nung and Rotxo jumped up after them and they all began to pull on the tracker hard.
"Call it in!" Neteyam yelled to Lo'ak. "Call dad! Call dad, just do it!"
Neteyam lifted his brothers arm and Lo'ak held his hand to his necklace.
"Dad- I mean devil dog do you read me?" Lo'ak called to Jake. "It's eagle eye do you copy?"
Jake and Neytiri had been out asking the villagers if they had seen were their kids went when Jake heard the call.
"Yeah Lo'ak?" Jake replied.
"Yes! We are with a Tulkun who is under attack, killer ship in bound, it's about two clicks out." Lo'ak explained to his father, his tone shaky and stressed.
"Who's with you?" Jake asked.
"It's all of us!" Lo'ak yelled back. "Tsireya and Ao'nung too."
Neytiri's facial expression dropped. Fear consumed her.
"We're at three brothers rock." Lo'ak told.
"You get to cover and you do not engage, alright? You hear me? Do not engage. We are coming." Jake told Lo'ak firmly.
"Yes sir." Lo'ak replied. Running straight back over to the tracker and helping the rest of them tug.
"COME ON!" Za'nara yelled.
"They're getting closer!" Tsireya yelled.
"3,2,1 PULL!" Rotxo yelled.
In the village, Jake alerted Tonowari and Ronal about the demon ship and the clan all rushed out to the water, gathering their weapons and preparing for war. Jake mounted his Skimwing and Neytiri took off on her Ikran, all heading out towards the reef, screaming their war call.
{back on the reef}
Neteyam grabbed a rope from his ilu and tied it around the tracker, then tying it around is ilu.
"Hurry up bro!" Lo'ak yelled.
Neteyam mounted his ilu and began pulling hard on the tracker whilst the rest of them tugged, using all their strength.
"Pull harder!" Tsireya yelled.
"All together!" Za'nara yelled.
The group took one final tug before the tracker came flying off Payakan and landed in the water.
"It's out!" Tuk yelled.
"Go Tuk!" Kiri yelled, pulling her onto the ilu.
Neteyam picked up the tracker from the water.
"Go that way! I'll draw them out!" Neteyam yelled, pointing in the opposite direction of the ship.
"Get everyone to safety!" Neteyam yelled.
"Za, come!" Lo'ak yelled, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the water.
"Neteyam!" Za'nara yelled. "Be careful."
Neteyam nodded and rode out under the water, leading the ship away from everyone.
Lo'ak swam over to Payakan.
"Payakan! Go, go! Dive!"
Payakan dove down under the water and Lo'ak swam to his ilu.
"Tuk grab on!" Kiri yelled to her little sister.
"We gotta go!" Lo'ak yelled.
With that said, everyone dove down into the water and raced towards the kelp.
The boats began to shoot explosives in the water, knocking Neteyam off his balance. He dumped the tracker and raced away from the ship.
Quaritch flew above the water, scanning the ocean for the kids. He told the sub teams to enter the water to find them. The kids had hidden under neath some kelp, as the subs dropped in the water, they panicked and began to race away.
The sub team chased after them, failing to capture the kids.
As Kiri raced through the water and away from the subs, her hands began to slip and the grip she had on Tuk began to slip aswell. As they swam, a large piece of kelp knocked Tuk off the ilu, releasing her from Kiri's grip.
Tsireya's ilu had gotten shot in the fin with an inflatable bag, causing her to fall off. She swam under neath a hidden cave in the water, finding Tuk in their aswell.
Za'nara's ilu got shot too, causing her to try swim to safety but realising she was trapped in by subs on each side, just as the subs were about to reach her, Lo'ak grabbed her hand, pulling her infront of him and holding onto her tightly until they got to safety.
Kiri, Ao'nung and Rotxo swam to one another and swam to one of the other hidden caves and hid.
"Have you seen Tuk?" Kiri asked them, which they replied by shaking their heads.
Lo'ak and Za'nara swam into one of the hidden caves only to find Tsireya and Tuk.
"Tuk!" Lo'ak yelled.
"Oh Tuk." Za'nara sighed with relief.
She grabbed Tuk's little head and cuddled it into her chest.
A light came beneath them and they realised they must leave.
"It is coming!" Tsireya cried out.
"We gotta go!" Lo'ak replied.
They all took deep breaths before diving back under the water and attempting to swim out to safety.
As they swam out in the open, the sub teams shot out nets which trapped them inside. Lo'ak managed to slip out and began cutting the net open when Quaritch dove down, scooping the kids up and carrying them all towards the ship.
