Ryuko could feel someone hugging her, even before she saw light or even heard the muffled sobs. The sun made her warm, and a calm settled over her.
The sobs began to fade away, making Ryuko wonder what was wrong. "Oi. What happened?"
The sobs went silent, the person holding Ryuko stopped breathing as they tightened their hold on her. "You don't remember?"
Ryuko opened her eyes, confused by what she found. "Mikoto? When did you get here?"
Mikoto smiled, a silent tear rolled down her face and fell onto Ryuko's cheek. "I came here to help you."
Ryuko sat up, offended by the comment. "Like hell I need help!" She stopped, looking around at their surroundings. They were in a field of tall golden grass, surrounded by the shapes of bodies everywhere. "Oh my God."
"It's fine, they're all alive. Just sleeping. I woke up a while ago." Mikoto answered a silent question.
Ryuko looked up at Mikoto. "What happened?"
"The line on your neck is back." Mikoto noted, dodging the question.
"Fuck! Why the hell do I have this shit!?" Ryuko shouted, causing a figure nearby to sit up. "Wait. Is that Misaki?"
Mikoto turned, scared of what she might see. Sitting up fifty yards away was Misaki Shokuhou, Mental Out. Mikoto's voice came out hoarse, as she was choked by tears and sobbed.
At that moment, Ryuko got a good look at what Mikoto was wearing. She had her Tokiwadai uniform on, though it was ripped, and considerably stained in blood, she could make out the logo.
"Misaki." Mikoto muttered.
Misaki seemed to hear her name, as she turned toward Mikoto and smiled. "I know your boobs aren't as big as mine, but does it make you that upset to finally accept it?"
Mikoto blushed and replied angrily. "I'm still growing!"
"I'm suppose it could be the fact that I di-" Misaki began but was cut off with by a glare from Mikoto.
"Finish what you were going to say." Ryuko demanded, sick of being out of the loop.
Mikoto sand her shoulders and nodded as she began to tell the story of how she went into Ryuko's world, of how she fought, of the people who died, and of her mother, her eyes trained steadily at the ground the whole time.
Something pushed into Mikoto's back at the end of the story, causing her to nearly fall into the stunned Ryuko. The unknown object turned out to be Mikuru, her face a look of disgust.
"I could have told the story better than that!" Mikuru said, pushing her foot off of Mikoto's back. "And I'm going to murder Kyriun right now!"
Mikuru shot electricity at Ryuko, who was staring at all of the figures around her. If it wasn't for Mikoto, she would have been electrified and killed.
"Mikoto?" Ryuko mumbled, trying to understand the situation. "Where is Satsuki? And, if Mikuru is here, does that mean my father is too?"
Mikoto and Mikuru both stopped staring at each other with death glares to see Ryuko shed a tear. Mikoto turned her back on Mikuru, not knowing how to answer Ryuko.
Before Ryuko received an answer, a bright light began to shine from behind her. Ryuko turned to find the Elite Four surrounding Satsuki.
"Matoi." Satsuki said in her condescending tone. "Even if our father were here, what would you say in your current state?"
"Enough Satsuki." A voice said softly from behind her.
Ryuko stood up, not believing that she heard the voice that had sounded. She found that she was wearing a familiar piece of cloth, a cloth she had only worn once before, but didn't care as she ran into the arms of Isshin Matoi, her eyes streaming tears.
"Ryuko. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have sent you away." Isshin said, holding Ryuko in his arms. He held out another arm for Satsuki to join, but Satsuki didn't move. "Satsuki, I'm sorry I left you too."
"Where's Ryukoooo!" A high pitched whine sounded in the distance, setting Misaki on edge. "Ryuuuuuukoooooo!"
A girl with brown coconut shaped hair tackled the father and daughter. "Ryuko! Where are we!?"
Several more figures joined into the tackle. The figures all were noticeably the Mankanshoku family.
"Oi! I can't...breathe!" Ryuko shouted at the bottom of the pile.
"Neither...can...I." Isshin said.
Satsuki looked at the family that lay before her and gave a rare smile. "Matoi." She said quietly.
Accelerator appeared next to Mikoto without a sound. "These idiots are what you worked so hard to save?" Mikoto closed her eyes and nodded as she smiled. "Tch. Figures an idiot like you would risk your life for something so small as a family."
"Um. Does anyone know where the hell we are?" TeleDeath asked, drawing the attention of Mikuru who promptly tackled her.
Mikoto looked around, seeing a giant looming city in the distance. "Hey! There's Academy City!"
Satsuki looked in the direction Mikoto had indicated and shook her head. "That's Honouji not Academy City."
Mikoto took a second look, and saw the rest of the city, which seemed to have been split into two. One half, had the wall and half of the entrance into the city, the other half had skyscrapers, and windmills. "I think it's both."
Isshin shook his head. "That would explain a lot of things at this moment."
"Would it explain why Misaki is still alive?" Mikoto asked.
"I believe that our two universes have been spliced together by dimensional fibers that have crossed the plain so many times. And on Misaki's current state, I'm going to say that it was a way of the universe giving back a life in a universe it died in a didn't belong. For Mikuru and the pink haired one, I think it was the universe not taking lives it had made to begin with." Isshin said.
"What does this mean now?" Mikoto asked.
"I think it means we're going to have to fight like hell again soon." Isshin said bluntly. "But first, we should rest and get rid of some craziness.
Everyone nodded in agreement. Satsuki started to walk towards the new city. Soon, everyone was following her, so they could try and get back to some semblance of normalcy.
