. . . . .

Today was a seemingly calm night with a gentle, cool breeze.

Seemingly calm her ass.

She was literally getting car chased by an alternate, what could she say?

The young woman panicked as she kept looking straight forward, not daring to look back at the car that was chasing her. That car... was no ordinary car. Her dark brown eyes flickered back to the side mirror. The car was still following her at top speed.

The fact that the car didn't have a driver, but the car was its own driver, concerned her.

She felt afraid.

She looked straight ahead again. She saw her own fearful reflection on the window. A familiar woman of long brown hair, who had a chubbier and wider fit around her chest. She tried to calm down by remembering things about herself: she was 5'7". She was eighteen when she had moved into this goddamn county.

Her parents kicked her out because she drank.

She wished to forget what happened before started to drink.

She shook herself out of the thoughts, and shouted as she felt the alternate in its car form bump into her own from behind. It was close, very close, she was going to die, wasn't she?

No. She refuses to gain M.A.D. from this... this thing that caused everything to happen, that led to her to this very moment.

The alternate sped up again, and she knew she couldn't escape that one. It was too fast, she was too slow... she closed her eyes shut, praying for a quick death.

But it never came.

Maddy heard a huge crash behind her, and she looked at the side mirrors. A familiar white van had ran into the alternate, and the car went flying, and tumbled to the other side of the empty highway. Maddy stopped her car and opened the window to look out. The alternate had shifted back to its original pure form: a black humanoid shadow with eyes of white. It screeched in pain and in anguish, and taking one look back, it ran and vanished into the fields as quick as it came for Maddy.

Maddy turned around and saw who it was. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw a familiar tan skinned individual with dyed silver hair tied back into a small ponytail.

He grinned devilishly at Maddy. "Hey babe!" He called out to you playfully.

"Jonah!" She exclaimed, in happiness and shock. "What are you doing here?"

"Saving your wonderful ass, why?"

Maddy blushed at the strangely funny yet comforting compliment. "You could have gotten yourself killed!"

"I mean," Jonah replied sheepishly, leaning into the open window with his arm. "Look who's talking, Maddy. YOU almost died right there, not ME. I think you're getting mixed messages here."

"Nuh uh," she denied with a shake of her head. "Yeah but anyway, you get my point. I... thanks." She added with a shy smile.

Jonah chucked, his silver hair bouncing with his laughter. "Alright, if you say so..." he smiled at her. "And yeah, no problem."

Maddy glanced back at her car. "Well, I can't abandon the car here," she said, pointing behind her with her thumb. "So... I guess, see you at home?" She smiles and shrugged.

Jonah grinned his signature smile. Maddy loved seeing it on his face again, it was so lovely to see and the smile was contagious. "Aight, then. See you there!" He waved, and he closed the window, and started his car. Maddy grinned, and got back in her car too, and they both drove back home, her car trailing behind his van.

Maddy could feel her ears turning red and flush with warmth, her heart fluttering like butterflies. God, Jonah was such a brave and cute person—darn it. Maddy grinned goofily to herself as she thought about his face... she was still so grateful she got to meet Jonah after she moved in here. With nowhere to go Jonah had offered a stay and a job in the BPS: she of course accepted, and lived with them for now.

Honestly? She wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon.

She and Jonah arrived at the house they lived in. It only had one floor and it was small for three people, but Maddy and Jonah didn't mind. Well, Adam did, but that's beside the point. They both got inside, arms intertwined with each other, as they both giggled happily after looking in the eyes. The inside was warm and cozy, and Maddy right away slumped down on the couch, and Jonah sat next to her.

"Thanks for saving me back there," Maddy whispered, as she snuggled into his arms and shoulders.

He laughed gently. "Of course, Maddy."

They looked at each other's eyes, both drowning in the beauty of the flares in their eyes. Their faces were so close to each other, Maddy felt her cheeks becoming hot. Jonah smiled and let out a chuckle. "You're cute when you blush, you know that right?"

"Wh-what?! No I'm not..." Maddy mumbled, but she couldn't look away from Jonah's beautiful brown eyes. She blinked, and both smiled at each other. They started to lean in closer, their eyes slowly closing, their lips almost-

"Ew, you too. Go get a room."

Jonah and Maddy turned around quickly, her blush still there, towards Adam, who had a disgusted face. He dropped his groceries in shock and cringe by accident, them clattering onto the floor.

"We will! Don't worry." Maddy took Jonah's hand and dragged him into the bedroom they all share, closing the door behind. Both of them were silent, as they heard Adam grumbling about how romance was gross and he couldn't understand love at all. Adam was heard sighing, picking up the groceries he dropped. Jonah and Maddy then burst into giggles, looking at each other with love and compassion.

An eventful and terrifying event, turned into one of the warmest and comforting nights for the both of them. Maddy was so glad to have such a nice boyfriend, she was driving just 15 minutes before in terror. Now they were happy, reunited from a dangerous moment.

Together and forever their love shall be.

. . . . .

This ending is just splendid. So splendid. *sarcasm* Why are all the endings so bad today, smh
