. . . . .
Elizabeth Solace was a normal single mother anyone would overlook.
She was Lilith's aunt, but she took care of Lilith and her siblings, while at the same time took care of Eve and a son of hers, Cain. She was an average dirty blonde woman just like her daughter, Eve, with heterochromia eyes of hazel brown and dark blue. She was a police officer who worked in Yonder County Police Department, away from where most of her children and her nephews and nieces lived, which was Mandela County. Cain lived in Yonder county, but otherwise everyone seemed to prefer the hotbed of activities of alternate invasions for a living. Now she usually wore a police uniform, tall black boots with heels and long laces, large silver hoop earrings that almost reached down to her shoulders, and painted black nails as she had the same preference as her daughter, Eve.
When at home, she wore a plain sweater-dress that was baggy and comfortable to the form. She was cooking food for herself, in a seemingly peaceful environment of her cottage. She lived in a nice suburban area, and there were less alternate invasions here. Elizabeth had never encountered an alternate in her life, and she was happy that would stay that way.
Life had other plans for her, though.
A shadow of a straw blonde with blue eyes that had shadowed over. The whites of his eyes melting and bleeding down his cheeks.
His smile of pure hatred and anger, and sadism.
Elizabeth visibly paled and turned around for a second to grab her gun, but when she pointed back at the figure he was gone.
Not gone.
Just right behind her.
Elizabeth screamed and the man raised his hand, that was turning into sharp black claws, ready to strike. She shot at them twice before running upstairs, to get the rest of her weapons.
But the thing blocked her way to the bedroom, and her closet, head tilted, the hand that had been shot dripping with black blood. He didn't seem to feel the pain that was on his claws. He started cornering her towards the bathroom, and in a desperate attempt to escape this situation, she locked herself in the back room and took out her flip phone.
With one hand she dialed in the police number. She put the earpiece against her ears—
She shrieked. A ghostly elongated face, visible in the mirrors, staring at her. Elizabeth looked back to where the figure would be reflected, but nothing was there. She turned back, and the alternate was closer, much closer, right up in her face, no no no no-
"This is the Mandela County Police Department, how may I help you?"
Elizabeth almost sighed in relief. Mandela County was close by, and she knew she could hold the alternates off as long as she could before they arrived. Since they had the most alternate encounter reports the most, they should know how to deal with one professionally. Plus, Yonder County Police Department, where she worked, was on a break, since the last crime investigations and arrests were rigorous, and her generous boss decided that everyone took a day off.
She wouldn never had known taking that one day off would affect her life this much.
"Hello?"
The caller was a masculine voice. Oh yeah, he asked a question...
