. . . . .

"I wanted you guys to accept ALL MY COUPONS, and THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS?!"

You told the karen calmly this restaurant only accepted coupons once per day per customer.

"Who MADE that kind of STUPID RULE? I bet it was your manager, huh?! Bring out the manager! I want to speak to them."

You sighed. You told him that the manager wasn't here, so he would have to go through you.

"Ugh, you're such a pathetic liar! I told you, TO BRING OUT THE MANAGER!!!"

"Excuse me, sir?"

The karen turned around to face your friend, a nice hispanic guy in a nice tuxedo with a red handkerchief in the left chest pocket. His hair was nicely gelled and he had a kind smile on. His posture stood tall and imposing. He seemed very polite at first glance, but you knew him better. He was mad, very angry, and he wasn't the type to get angry that easily.

Which meant if he was mad, you should run for your life.

"Would you kindly stop that please?" He spoke, teeth gritted.

"Bleh, YOU and your STUPID CUSTOMERS!! Even the customers that come here is STUPID, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! I'm NEVER coming back! Fucking--" The angry karen's voice faded away as he stomped out of the front door. You laughed.

"You okay?" your formal friend asked.

His name was Cesar Torres, one of the kindest man to ever exist.

You nodded and asked how he got here.

"Oh well, you know, I just happened to pass by." He brushed it off with a wave of his hand, but he couldn't possibly pass by every day coincidentally. But you decided to dismiss the fact and asked if he wanted some food.

"Oh sure, [Name]. I would love to." He smiled kindly. You went inside and quickly made some fast-food tacos before you came out, only to almost bump into Cesar mid-way. How did he get in here?? "Let me take this for you, dearie." He reached out and took the tray before leaving the kitchen.

You blinked in confusion, but decided to pay no attention.

You sat with him by the table after flipping the sign from Open to Closed. Luckily it was lunch break for you, and Cesar happened to come at the right time.

"So how is everything [Name] my dearie?" Cesar put his chin on the hand, leaning forward towards you with a seemingly dreamy expression.

You laughed and jokingly asked why he looked at you like that and about the nickname he called you.

"Because you are my dear, [Name]. Isn't that obvious?" he replied curtly. You glanced sideways, feeling a bit weirded out. Cesar had been recently strange to you these days, before that he was always the normal Cesar you knew.

You were about to answer no when your phone rang out. You looked at your phone.

Shit. It was your boss.

You accepted the call with a hello.

"Agent [Name], you are expected to be here in the building by 15 minutes, sharp. Understood?"

The call ended abruptly after you answered with affirmation. You rushed your stuff, apologized to Cesar for leaving so abruptly. You had to go now.

"Oh dearie, that's fine." Cesar smiled sadly but with understanding. "Be back soon as possible, okay?"
