Jungkook and Taehyung had been best friends since they were trainees at BigHit Entertainment. They were practically inseparable, and everyone knew that they had a special bond. When they were approached by a popular reality show to participate as a fake couple, they both agreed to do it, thinking it would be a fun and easy way to win the competition.
As soon as they started filming, however, they realized how difficult it was to pretend to be in a relationship. They had to hold hands, kiss, and act like they were madly in love, all while knowing that it was all for show. They did their best to make it convincing, but deep down they knew it was just acting.
One day, while they were out at a club, Jungkook was approached by a beautiful girl. She flirted with him and before he knew it, she was kissing him. Taehyung saw everything from across the room, and his heart sank. It felt like a bullet had hit his chest. He couldn't believe that Jungkook was kissing someone else, even if it was just for show.
Without thinking, Taehyung ran over to Jungkook and pulled him away from the girl. Jungkook was angry and confused, not understanding why Taehyung was so upset. But Taehyung was too upset to explain, and he burst into tears.
"I can't do this anymore, Jungkook," he cried. "I know this is all fake, but I can't watch you kiss someone else. It hurts too much."
Jungkook was taken aback by Taehyung's outburst. He had never seen his friend so emotional before. He realized in that moment that he had been taking Taehyung for granted, and that he had been neglecting their friendship in favor of the show.
"I'm sorry, Tae," he said, taking Taehyung into his arms. "I didn't realize how much this was affecting you. I promise to do better, and to be a better friend to you."
Taehyung nodded, still crying, but feeling a little better. He knew that their fake relationship would have to continue for the show, but he also knew that he and Jungkook had a real relationship that was worth fighting for.
Over the next few days, Jungkook made an effort to be more attentive to Taehyung's feelings. He would hold his hand when they were out in public, give him reassuring looks when they had to act intimate for the cameras, and generally just be more present in their fake relationship.
Taehyung appreciated the effort, but he couldn't shake the feeling that it was all just for show. He knew that Jungkook cared about him as a friend, but he couldn't help but wonder if there was something more there. He had always had a crush on Jungkook, but he had never acted on it, thinking that it was just a passing phase.
As the days went on, Taehyung found himself falling deeper in love with Jungkook. He would catch himself staring at him during breaks in filming, or feeling a pang of jealousy when Jungkook interacted with other people. It was driving him crazy, but he didn't know what to do about it.
One day, while they were on a break from filming, Taehyung decided to take a chance. He pulled Jungkook aside and took a deep breath.
"Jungkook, can I talk to you about something?" he asked nervously.
"Of course, Tae. What's on your mind?" Jungkook replied, looking concerned.
"I know that this fake relationship is just for the show, but...I can't help how I feel," Taehyung said, his voice shaking slightly. "I think I'm in love with you, Jungkook."
Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't say anything for a few moments. Finally, he spoke.
"I had no idea, Tae," he said softly. "I don't want to lead you on, but I also don't want to lose you as a friend. Can we talk about this more after the show is over?"
Taehyung nodded, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment. He knew that they still had to pretend to be in a relationship for the show, but he also knew that he had finally been honest with himself and with Jungkook. He didn't know what the future held for them, but he was willing to take the risk and find out.
The rest of the show went by in a blur for Taehyung. He found it harder and harder to pretend to be in love with Jungkook, knowing that his feelings for him were real. At the same time, he was scared to find out what would happen after the show was over. Would Jungkook still want to be friends? Would their friendship be awkward and strained?
On the final day of filming, Taehyung and Jungkook had to do a final performance together. As they sang and danced on stage, Taehyung couldn't help but feel emotional. This had been such a rollercoaster ride for him, and he didn't know what the future held.
After the show, Taehyung and Jungkook were backstage, taking off their microphones and getting ready to leave. Taehyung was nervous, not knowing what to say to Jungkook. Finally, he spoke up.
"Jungkook, I know that what I said earlier was a lot to take in. I just want to say that I'm sorry if I made things awkward for us," he said, looking down at his feet.
Jungkook reached out and gently lifted Taehyung's chin so that he was looking at him.
"You don't have to apologize, Tae. I'm glad that you were honest with me," he said, smiling softly.
Taehyung felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He realized that even if Jungkook didn't feel the same way, their friendship was still strong. He smiled back at Jungkook, feeling grateful.
As they walked out of the building, Taehyung felt a sense of relief. He didn't know what the future held for him and Jungkook, but he knew that they would always be there for each other, no matter what.
