Brooklyn had turned on the radio to the station Citizen Z was on. "Alright my zombie slayers. You all must be the baddest of the bad-asses because you have survived this long. I must say I am impressed! And to my friends down below in Colorado, stay safe. You're in good hands," Citizen Z said. "So this song is for you," he said and began to play This is War by Thirty Seconds to Mars. Brooklyn turned it up as she cooked to the music. Something about Citizen Z made her smile, but 10K couldn't figure it out. Brook took out a pan from her oven that was filled with lasagna. The aroma of tomato sauce and melted cheese filled the whole building. "It smells amazing," 10K said. Brooklyn turned around and smiled at him, "I hope you guys like it," she said. He smiled and helped her serve it. Everyone was seated in the dining room, waiting to be fed. 10K and Brooklyn came out with plastic plates filled with lasagna. "I haven't had a home cooked meal since I was in junior high," Addy said. Murphy had finished already. "Where's the seconds?" He asked. Brooklyn laughed and gave him more. "This is so good Brooklyn," Warren said. "Thanks. It's my brother's recipe," she said. "Give my compliments to him," Mac said. Brooklyn smiled, "Yeah I'll make sure to do that." After they all ate, Brooklyn came out with 10K's favorite dessert, Oreos. Soon after everyone grabbed a few cookies from the box, they headed into the party room. Murphy, Doc, and Mac were playing pool (and betting with their Oreos). Warren was talking with Addy on the couches. Brooklyn was in the computer room. Her radio was playing softly. She was super stressed, and she laid back in her chair to calm down. 10K came in and smiled at her. She didn't see him at first, but he took her hand and helped her out of her chair. He turned the radio up as it played Falling Slowly by Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti. He kept holding her hand as he placed his other hand on her waist. She blushed and put her hand on his shoulder. He began to dance with her in their room. They couldn't take their eyes of each other. She smiled up at him as he twirled her around. After their twirl, she rested her head on his shoulder and shut her eyes. He gently rested his head on hers as they slowly danced together just as the chorus came. The rest of the night remained just as perfect. And for the first time in 5 years, it seemed as if there was no zombie apocalypse outside.
