10K woke up in the middle of the night with a smile on his face. He held Brook tighter, but soon he realized that she wasn't there. "Brook?" He asked. The part she was once laying on was still warm, and he couldn't hear anyone in the hallway. In fact, the hallway light was off. "Brook?" He called out again as his heart pounded. He frantically searched around the room. The bathroom door shut behind him and he sighed, "Oh thank god. You scared me," he said as he turned around to look at her. But it wasn't Brook, not anymore. Her eyes were bloodshot and her skin was pale. She walked with a limp but it didn't seem to bother her. But what scared him the most was all the blood dripping off of her mouth across her body. Her screech was the most horrid noise any living creature could conjure up. "Oh god-oh god you're a z," he said as he began to lose feeling in his body. She screeched louder and tried her best to run towards him. He backed up and looked for a weapon. Thankfully, he always keeps a knife in a small scabbard. He took it out and looked at Brook one last time. "I'm so sorry," he said as he painfully dug his dagger into her skull. His weak knees made him fall to the ground, and the zombie fell on top of him. It seemed to be gasping for breath, like a human. He put it's head on his lap and stroked her face. "Oh god," he said over and over again. The zombie reached for his soft face. "You-you did this to me," it said in Brook's voice. "Your love for me killed me! It destroyed me! You made me a zombie. You made Cassandra a zombie because you loved her, now you have killed us both," it said.

10K woke up from his nightmare gasping for breath. He had tears down his face. Brooklyn, still a human, sighed happily as she sat up. She wrapped her arms around 10K's neck from behind and laid against his warm back, "Hey," she said. 10K tried to remember his nightmare, but just like the one he had two nights ago, he couldn't remember it. He put one hand on her hands and smiled, "Hey," he said. She noticed how tense he was. "10K? Are you okay?" She asked. He sighed and looked down at the bed, "No-no I don't think I am," he said with a small laugh. "I think I'm going crazy." She crawled over so she was in front of him. "Woah, woah. Why would you think that?" She asked. "I keep on having nightmares, ever since I met you. But, I can't remember any of them. Not even the slightest image of them," he said. "Do you ever remember your nightmares?" He asked her. "Sadly I do. I remember them too well," she responded. "What do you dream about?" He asked. "Maybe-maybe if you tell me, it will help me remember," he said. She knew she could trust 10K, but the subject was really personal. She looked at him and saw his pain, "Yeah. Uhm okay," she said. She sat criss crossed and started playing with her hands. "My nightmares, they are actually memories. And, uhm, when I was young, about fourteen I think, the virus had just broke out. It was year 1 BZ. My sister, my dad, and I, we were all alone. My mother was the first to go. But the three of us, we were lucky! We found a group, a big group, of amazing people who lived together in a hotel. Uhm, so we stayed with them, befriended them. But one day, and I can see it perfectly, we got a message on a television in the theatre room. On the screen, there was a man with a mask. The mask had bright yellow eyes, and it's face was painted white with red blood across it. His mouth didn't move when he spoke. But basically he told us that we were now playing his little game. There was one category of something we owned that was poisoned with a zombie virus. He said that it could be food, water, the air, stuff like that. But we had to figure it out. And if we found out what it was, he would free all of us. But until then, we couldn't do anything. We couldn't leave, or eat, or drink, or shower, for the fear that the zombie virus was on it. So this old man, in his 70's, volunteered to find out what necessity was poisoned. He would try one thing, wait a day; if he was a zombie, the rest of us would be freed. It took us about five days. And it ended up being our weapons. We had to kill him the hard way. Once we told the masked man, he congratulated us and told us that when we got to the gate doors, he would open it and we would be free. So we all waited an hour by the gate. Then this blaring siren pounded at our ears as the gate slowly opened. We were free! But the masked man had lied. On the other side of the door, there was an army of zombies. I was the only one to escape. I couldn't give mercy, I couldn't save anyone," she said as she teared up. 10K looked up at Brook and held her close to him. She cried into his shirt as she held onto it tightly. "It's okay. It's okay it's over. You're safe. You're safe with me, I will keep you safe. I promise," he said to her softly. She nodded softly and kept holding onto him.
