July 11th, 6:15Pm.

Lance's hands shook almost violently as he pulled open the truck door, and began to run through the parking lot to the hospital. He didn't bother closing the door behind him.

He sprinted through the entrance to the ER, pushing his way past a line of people, ignoring the indignant remarks as he shoved past them. He got to the receptionist and slapped his palms on the desk to get her attention.
"Keith Kogane, I am looking for Keith Kogane, he was in a motorcycle accident."

The woman looked at him with an almost bored expression. "You're name?"

"Lance McLain."

She typed it in.
"Okay, and his date of birth?

'Are you fucking serious?'
"Fuck, lady, can't remember...kinda panicked right now!"

She sighed, and began to type something.
"Does he have any distinguishing features?"

"Uh, mullet, short, um he has a tattoo on his arm, and everywhere else really."

She typed for a few more moments.
"He's under the care of Doctor Marion, I'll page him."

"Please tell me where Keith is at, I need to see him!"

She rolled her eyes. Lance wanted to reach across the desk and throttle the woman.
"Sir, are you family, or spouse?"

"Uh... Spouse..please, he may be dying in here, I need to be with him."

The woman's expression softened somewhat, and she began to type in some information, then looked back at Lance.
"Room number 22. Second floor."

"Thank you."
Lance immediately ran towards the elevator behind the desk and press the button. It dinged, and the doors remained closed. He smashed the button four more times before it opened. He slipped inside, and pressed for the second floor.
His heart was pounding out of his chest, and his hands shook. He assumed Allura would park the truck, but his mind wasn't there anymore. It was racing a thousand miles an hour.

When the door opened, he saw a nurse in front of the elevator. "Where is room twenty two, please!"

She looked wide eyed for a moment, then pointed down the hall. "Near the end of that hall." She said.

Lance sprinted down. His legs pumping, yet still not half as fast as his heart. He counted the numbers by the doors, outside of #22 he saw two men wearing white coats.

One turned around when he hear Lance coming, and then they both faced him.
"Please, is Keith Kogane in there?"

The men shared a look, a look that sent another spike through Lance's heart.
"Um, yes. I'm Doctor Marion. Are you fami-"

"I'm his husband!"
Lance nearly shouted.

The men shared a look again, Doctor Marion turned, and pulled a small wheeled cart between him and Lance. On it were various belongings of Keith's.
The doctor picked up one of two red ruby rings Lance saw sitting there.

"I'm guessing one of these is your's?"

Lance stared wide eyed for a moment.
'That can't- he wasn't- was he going to?'
Lance felt tears begin to fall, and he nodded slowly, holding his hand out. The doctor dropped it into his palm. The metal was red, the gem red and large. It was ridiculous. And fit Keith perfectly.

"Please, how is he? Can I see him."
Lance asked, looking back up to the man, through tear streaked eyes.

Again the men shared a look, this time the other man spoke. "He's in an induced coma at the moment, emergency surgery had to be performed to deal with several blood clots in his brain. He also had a stab wound, and several broke bones from the crash. Mostly in his right arm."
