March 28th, 3:32Pm.
As they drove, the road became more and more crowded, especially once Lance turned right, onto the road with a large sign, reading. 'Zion National Park'.
Eventually they stopped at the beginning of a line to enter the park, and Lance took the opportunity to land out a long grown as he stretched his stiff neck and arms in the driver's seat.
"Finally! Felt like we were driving forever."
"I know. I was the one driving for most of it."
Keith said
Keith looked out his window to enjoy the view. Before them was the entrance to a huge valley, encompassed by red rock walls that stretched dozens of feet high. That, and a-
'Fuck. Please no.'
Keith thought, as he quickly averted his gaze from the building to their right, and tried to draw Lance's attention.
"Lance, do you see the-"
Keith scanned the line of cars, and canyon in front of them, trying to find something to distract Lance's gaze.
"-that uh- The....um."
Lance quirked an eyebrow at Keith
"The what?"
Before Keith could respond, he saw Lance's eyes move past him, and at the building to the right of them. Keith sighed as Lance's eyes widened.
"They have a gift shop?!"
Lance asked, excitedly. A smile forming quickly on his face.
"Lance, we're already in line to get in the park. Do you really want to leave the line, to-"
"Yes."
Lance responded immediately.
"Lance, there will...we...you don't -"
"Bopbopbopbopbopbop. I'm driving, I choose where we go."
With that, Lance followed the barely moving line a few more meters, before turning right, and parking in front of the small Zion gift shop.
Keith just sighed as Lance took off his own seatbelt. "Don't spend too much, please."
Lance chuckled.
"It's a gift shop. You can't not spend too much."
"Lance."
Lance let out and exacerbated breath.
"Oh calm down. I won't, don't worry.-"
Then Lance leaned over to Keith, and undid his seatbelt as well.
"-Also, you're coming with."
"No thanks. I'd rather be outside on our trip to a national park."
"And you will be! For the fifteen seconds it takes us to get in that gift shop."
"You can gift shop just fine on your own, I'm certain of that much."
"Keith, you never shop with me anymore."
Lance whined.
"Because you don't shop. You stand and gawk at random things we aren't buying, then end up buying something completely different from what you went in for."
"I'm not seeing the issue here."
"Exactly. I'd rather sit for the next five hours, not browse the gift shop."
Lance took Keith's sunglasses off the dash, and put them on Keith. Keith opened his mouth to protest, but Lance covered it with his hand.
"Keith, let's just skip the five minutes of me begging, and get right to the gift shopping."
Keith rolled his eyes. As much as he wanted to try and fight Lance on it, he knew he wouldn't win. He never did. Keith nodded. Lance smiled, and pushed open his door to hop out off the truck. Keith opened his door, and reluctantly slid out. Looking between the now fleeing Lance, and the cat. It wasn't hot in the shade, and the cat would be a good way to urge Lance to hurry, so Keith nodded to the cat.
"Be back soon."
The cat looked at him with that blank expression, unblinking.
Keith shrugged, closed the door, and turned to find out where Lance ran off to.
