Waking The Demons (A Bullet For My Valentine Fic)

Chapter Nine

*Steph POV*

As soon as we had finished filming the parts to camera it was time to begin the lit part of our investigation and tour of the areas we would be exploring throughout the night. Yvette left to fetch everyone else. Jay was still sat in the wheelchair and wheeled himself about the room making me laugh as I detached my camera from its stand.

'I am super excited' He buzzed, kind of like a child that had eaten too many sweet treats. 'What's up, are you not excited?' He questioned as I sort of shook my head laughing at his excitement.

'Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm super excited but also nervous as hell.'

'Babe, you have no need to worry, I will look after you. Nothing will come near you.' He grinned sticking out his chest as he stood from the wheelchair. Cue the blushing and cue everyone else entering the room. Curse this guy. Emz grinned as she walked over to me.

'You know with your cheeks being that bright we might not be able to do the night investigation as you will be lighting up the whole room.' She teased, I heard a muffled chuckle behind her as she walked more into the centre of the room, next to Jay who had removed his beany hat and stuck a military helmet onto his head. I rolled my eyes slightly as I hit record.

No more than a minute after starting there were loud whistles coming from within the room. Yvette started to call out for more whistles in reply to her own, but was unsuccessful. However something must have been listening as within a few minutes of quiet chatter a metal object was thrown and landed onto the wooden floor with a loud clatter. I must admit I did jump. Everyone quickly went on search of the mysterious item, which turned out to be some kind of metal clip.

Everyone had a good look around the room listening intensely for any noise that may happen. There was a loud bang from the desk cabinet in the middle of the room and we three women let out a shriek and jumped, much like most of the men did. Jay was stood next to me and placed a hand on my arm in comfort.

'This is amazing. I'm totally loving this. It's kind of like Christmas has come early for me ' Jay made every one chuckle at his enthusiasm. 'Can I join the crew full time? It'd be amazing.'

When everyone had calmed down from the burst of excitement we headed off up the stairs. This was the area that had been shut off from public visitation due to the amount of reported activity that went on. Karl led the way with everyone following close behind. Padge had offered his arm for Emz to link with which she did, Matt followed closely behind. Jay had linked arms with me as we walked ahead of Moose.

We reached the top corridor and found some rooms that used to be used as the servants quarters but were just used as storage rooms. Yvette opened up a few of the doors until she came across one at the end of the hall that had enough room for the group to step inside. She ushered Matt into the room first followed by Padge and Emz. I released my arm from Jay and followed them in, sticking close to Emz's side.

Fred the demonologist warned everyone to be careful about what we asked for as there were some not nice spirits lurking about the top floor. As soon as he heard this Jay started whispering bring it on, talk about asking for trouble. Once again we stood in silence and just listened and waited.

Stuart the other camera person passed out on the floor for no apparent reason. We were all shocked. He had passed out on a few investigations before, so it wasn't anything new but still not a nice thing to happen to the poor man. Yvette, Karl, Fred and Moose tended to him leaving 5 of us in the room as the door slowly creaked shut engulfing us into the darkness. I quickly flipped a switch on my camera and enabled the night vision mode so I was still able to carry on filming as well as seeing where everyone was at. Now that the door was closed the room seemed even smaller.

'What's up Page, you look like you've seen a ghost.' I teased as I panned the camera around the group.

'It just went dark a bit quick, tis all.' He shrugged. We all laughed.

*Emma POV*

'Let's make the most of being in here.' I said trying to make out where everyone was in the door, I reached out and took hold of the first arm that was closest to me and linked with it. 'If there is anybody in the room with us now, please make yourself known' Silence. 'Come on, if you are there let us know, bang on something, whistle or just hello.'

'Even better, tap Jay on the shoulder, he really wants to know that you are here.' Steph added. Even though I couldn't see her face I knew she would have a cheeky smile on her face.

'Go one better and give him a slap' Matt chuckled.

'Cheers mates.' After a quick laugh the room once again fell into an eerie silence. A gloved hand moved to my own, meaning it was Matt as he was the only one with gloves on and entwined his fingers with my own, at least he was as creeped out as me and the comfort helped take the edge off of my nerves.

'Shh, listen. I swear I can hear like a muffled voice.' Steph whispered, obviously slightly scared. At that moment the door swung open and we all let out a scream. Moose was stood at the door and immediately started laughing his ass off. 'Moose! You damn near killed us all!' Steph yelled walking up to him and giving him a shove. He started to choke on his own laughter, wiping away a few loose tears that had fallen from his eyes.

'How's Stu doing?' I asked Karl who was standing behind Moose, also having a little giggle. I looked to Matt and smiled as I released my hand from his and headed out of the door following Steph.

'He is good, just gone out to get some fresh air.' As if from nowhere a wooden doorstop came flying down the hallway and over our heads.

'Whoa what the hell! I saw that come flying' Jay was bouncing about again as he pointed out and told us the direction of which the doorstop had come from. A few moments later another seemed to come flying over our heads, everyone began to get excited from the activity going on so early into the investigation.

'What we are going to do now is we are going to go and have a drink of tea and then we are going to regroup and then turn all the lights off in the building and begin the investigation' Yvette said to the team and the camera.

'And then I'm going to get strangled' Jay was crazy and everybody started to laugh at him before we headed off down the stairs for a break.
