Waking The Demons (A Bullet For My Valentine Fic)

Chapter Eight

*Emma POV*

The car ride to Newton house was one full of excited chatter. Once again it was Steph, Jay and Matt joining me in my car. It was nearing dark once we arrived. Pulling up to the front of the house the guys were amazed at the size and beauty of the place. Steph had filled them in with what had happened to her when she was setting up some equipment, this made them even more excited about spending the night. Once we were parked up we waited for moose and Padge to do the same in their car before heading into the house.

'Ok, now I am kind of crapping it already.' Matt said quietly from my side as he followed me in to the house and into a dining room we would be using as our HQ for the next two nights while we were here. In the room there was a tea and coffee machine set up as we would need plenty of warm drinks, as it always got extra cold in older large buildings. There were a few laptops and battery chargers set up too, ready for if we needed to use them.

'Afraid I can't comfort you on that one, this place gives me the chills too.' I let out a slight shiver, both from the cold and from a creeped out feeling.

'Woooooooo, oooooooo.' Jay made a pathetic ghostly noise as he walked passed me towards the coffee machine, Matt slapped the back of his head as he passed laughing.

'Is he going to take any of tonight seriously?' Steph asked as she stood next to me, she had picked up one of the cameras and began pushing some buttons getting it ready.

'I'm sure he will, he just has a bit too much energy at times but you'll get used to him.' Padge said. We all got ourselves a coffee. 'Do we have time to take a smoke before we get started?'

'Karl' I shouted over to where he was sat at his computer, he looked up. 'Do we have time to nip out?'

'Go for it, be back in 5 minutes for a briefing.' I nodded before heading out to the front with Padge and Matt.

'So I never asked what got you guys involved with filming with us?' I questioned as we lit up.

'We enjoyed the show and someone we know is a friend of Yvette and she mentioned a new series of Most Haunted, so it kind of went from there. We thought it would be good fun, we've just come back from touring, got Download to do in two weeks, then we are back in the studio for god knows how long.' Padge explained.

'Sounds like you don't get a quiet five minutes.'

'Don't get us wrong, we love what we do, but the breaks and doing different things is greatly appreciated. Anyway enough about us, what is it you do when you're not busy with this lot?'

'Nothing anyway near as exciting as your guys. I just work part time with this bunch and part time mobile hair and beauty, mainly for weddings and things like that. It's something I enjoy and make my own hours so I can't grumble. I'm jealous of how much travelling you guys get to do, must be amazing to see the world.'

'It has its ups and downs.' Matt answered. 'It's great to travel, the only thing is that we are only in one place for a night before having to move onto the next location, so it's pretty tiring.'

'Well when you get bored of the travelling, let me and Steph know and we will go travelling and living the life of rock stars for you.' I laughed.

'Or both of you just come with us, live life on the road for a bit.'

'I'm sure you guys have enough company while on the road' I winked while stubbing out my smoke just as Stuart came out to let us know they were starting the brief.

We all gathered round in the dining area and Karl gave us the basic run down of the night. We would start shooting at 9 as it would be dark outside. The guys would give their expectations to camera one by one, we would then go on a quick lit walk around to see what was what, and then between 10-11 it would be lights out and the investigation would begin. We were allowed breaks as and when needed and would be filming until 2-3am depending on how the night was going and also how cold it got.

'Matt we are going to start with you first, if you want to head off to the Military room with Steph and Yvette we will get the ball rolling.' Karl said. I saw Jay send a wink in Steph's direction as the military room was mentioned, her face turned a bright shade of red. I chuckled.

*Steph POV*

Gah, that guy really made me blush. There was just something about him that made me feel nervous in a good way. I was kind of glad to be leaving the room and get the chance to calm down somewhat.

'He likes you, you know.' Matt made me jump as he stood walked next to me. 'And I'm guessing the feeling is mutual?'

'What? No. Are you mad? I've only known him what less than 24 hours.' I felt the blush creeping back into my cheeks. The room suddenly became a lot warmer.

'That means nothing. The blush kind of gives it away.'

'Well, Padge seems to have a sweet spot for my Emz.' I answered trying to change the direction of the conversations. Matts smile fell slightly/

'You think?' I nodded. He just let out a slight hmm.

'I was thinking that we should have you sat in the old wheelchair while you speak to camera' Yvette was now with us in the room.

'Yeah that would work perfect.' I agreed before we got set up.

'Whenever you're ready, just let us know how you're feeling and what you're hoping for tonight.' Yvette explained as I began to film.

'So I'm super excited about tonight's session, erm excited but very very nervous. I think probably the worst thing I would be frightened of would be some kind of poltergeist activity. Something thrown or some kind of interaction, something like that, that would er be scary and if I'm honest I am properly shitting myself. I really do not want to be left alone in this place.' Matt said his piece before leaving the room to re-join the others.

Moose was next in the chair. 'There's defiantly a feeling of excitement between me and the boys and we all just want something to happen, like something paranormal, the scariest thing I can think of would be if I actually seen something like an orb or something touched me or something whispered in my ear. Ugh my voice is going now as I'm quite scared, it quite weird but also exciting at the same time. I think I'm going to shit myself '

'New pants on the ready then hey Moose?' I teased as he left the room. Next in was Padge.

'If I was on my own, somewhere in the house and things started moving and jumping around you know floating around on their own then that would scare me big time. Hopefully something is going to happen let's just wait and see.'

And lastly it was Jays turn. He sat down in the wheelchair and had a quick wheel around the room making me laugh. He got told off for messing about by Yvette, who was trying just as hard no to laugh at him. She made him settle down and talk his piece. 'Thinking about it, before coming here I thought to myself the scariest thing that could possibly happen to me would be to actually feel a presence or feel something touch me because I don't know whether I believe in anything or not, you know. So to actually have like a whisper in my ear or an actual something touch me would make me believe it, so I'm hoping for some poltergeist activity. If I was on my own in a room and things started moving I would think it was amazing.'

'And you sir are crazy. And so going on a lone visual at some point tonight.'

'Nope, you are coming on one with me' He answered with a huge grin. And so the night began.
