Chapter 2

Jack quietly pushed room 517's door open.
Amy stood behind him, fearful to see how badly Ty was hurt.
Jack moved to the side & motioned for Amy to go in. She looked at Ty and grabbed her grandfather's hand. A nurse & doctor were replacing bandages on his chest.

It hurts to breathe!! Ty barely whispered.
Amy watched him grimacing from the pain, while he closed his eyes, forcing back tears. Men don't cry.

Amy waved to the nurse & forced a smile, as she quietly walked around to the far side of the hospital bed, staying out of their way.

Her emotions were shot, from tossing & turning all night with worry, hurt, and love for this young man she had missed terribly. Amy looked up at her grandfather, who still stood by the door.
He didn't say a word, but his eyes told Amy to be brave.

Ty's right hand lay motionless. A bandage covered his knuckles. Amy took a deep breath
and carefully slid her hand into his.
She leaned down and gently kissed his forehead.
Her pretty blue summer dress brushed against his arm.
He squeezed her hand. Amy watched as tears flowed from his eyes....... He knew it was her.

Amy!! He whispered.

Ty!! I'm here!!

I'm soooo sorry Amy, I didn't know how to........

She laid a finger on his lips and whispered for him to rest.

He opened his eyes and gazed into hers.
Amy's mind was full of memories......she looked into his eyes but saw her jumping course. It was the most amazing gift she had ever received.
After several endless seconds, Amy smiled and Ty whispered;
You're beautiful!!

She knelt on the floor and kissed his hand.

You look tired Amy.

I didn't sleep well.

How are you feeling?? Amy asked.

Can you stay for a little while Amy??
Please.......

Ty, I'm not going anywhere.
