After dinner in the cafeteria, Amy got Ty back into bed, & Marty watched him swallow his evening pain pills and antibiotics. 15 minutes later Ty fell asleep. Amy curled up in a blanket on her window ledge bed & read an e-mail from her biology teacher:

Amy Fleming,
Please be advised your extended absence in my class is affecting your grade. You've missed 3 lectures, 2 quizzes, and a mid term test will be administered in 2 days. It's obvious you have no interest in biology, therefore I suggest you drop this class immediately.

Amy swore under her breath & rolled her eyes.
Harriet Sourmman thought she was
The Queen of Calgary, and had copied her email to 6 people including the Prime Minister.
Amy hit the reply button and began typing a condescending reply, then signed......Amy, and wondered how she could copy God!!

Stupid Bitch!! Amy muttered under her breath.
She was enjoying a fun evening with Ty until now.........
Amy realized this hospital stay with Ty was akin to living on a deserted isle with him.

Suddenly her text beeped........
It was from Caleb and he was not a happy camper.

Look Amy!! I can't do all my barn chores and yours too!! You being gone to hold some guys hand is getting old. Whoever this dude is.......he needs to man up and stop sucking on the bottle.
Effective immediately I'm no longer cleaning stalls. So you'd better get back here.
And we had a date last night. Why didn't you text and tell me you couldn't make it.
I showered and cleaned up and everything!!
I need to see you. I'm worried about rodeo and I need to talk to you. I need advice on Trigger's sore leg. I need you to bake me some cookies.
Just hurry home & tell the hospital kid to grow a pair.

Amy wanted to throw her phone across the room!!
She was not Caleb's woman!! They had only dated twice & seemingly all he was interested in was kissing her.

Another text came in, this one from Soraya........

Amy, can you believe Harriet Sourmman, she just sent me an e-mail complaining about the blouse I wore today. She went off about dress code & suggested I move to Africa.
WTH!! I'm not putting up with her crap any longer. I told my mom & she said I should just ignore her & wear a solid color shirt.
"Don't rock the boat"; my mom says.......I could scream some days!!
We have laws about discrimination!!
Do you think I should talk to
Principal Matthews or send an email to the School Board?? I'm in tears Amy!!
You're the only good thing in my life right now!!

Amy had no idea she was crying too until a big tear splashed on her I-phones screen.
She scrolled to her contacts and hit 'Home'.
She heard ringing and so wished her grandfather was here with her.

Hi Amy!! How's are you?? How's Ty??

Everything's good grandpa!! I miss you.

What's wrong Amy??

Nothings wrong Grandpa!! I just called to check on you.

Amy.......it's my job to protect our family. If something or someone is upsetting you.
I need to know about it.
You sound like you're crying......

Amy looked up.......Ty was talking in his sleep again........

Amy!! I'm sorry!! I'm so sorry I left the way I did. I never meant to hurt you Amy!! It was my dad, and he needed me. I want to make it up to you.
I want to buy you some earrings. I've been an idiot. Amy!!!
