I Made Him a Promise
Chapter - 12

Amy......??
Amy, are you awake??

Ty!!  What's wrong!!  Do you need a painkiller?

I can't sleep.

What can I do??  I can see what's on TV.

I'm all wired Amy, I woke up & can't get back to sleep.

It's all the drugs they gave you in the emergency room.  The doctor said they might keep you up tonight as they wore off.
Ty, I never thanked you for rescuing me!!

Here's my thank you.......
Amy leaned over and kissed him with the most intense passion she knew to put in a kiss.
She touched his face and felt his masculine beard stubble.  She felt his shoulders, and bare chest, and explored his navel.  Amy could tell Ty wanted more, but she moved her hand up and traced the curves of his ears.
She sat up and looked into his eyes.....

Did you like that??  She asked softly, followed by a smile.

I have to pee really bad!! It just hit me!!

Ty!!  That is so unromantic you know!!
She laughed & tickled his ribs as he crawled out of bed, and dashed for the bathroom.

Do you feel better?? She asked when he returned.

Yeah, but I'm worried.

About what??  Amy asked

Theo and Eleanor; do they make it to the island??

Well, I haven't read anymore, what if I read from the book for a while?  I'll go back a couple of paragraphs ......so you'll remember what's going on..........

                               🦋🦋🦋

Hope had no idea how she fell in love with this man from Montana, in mere hours. But she did, and that was that. Her heart had set course with him........

Hope waited a minute, then asked him;
Theo, are you ok?? Talk to me!!
Hope yelled out.
He was a man, and Hope could not fathom his emotions. He was tense and his words were gone but Hope watched as his every muscle was set protecting her.
She felt him stand again and paddle.
And in seconds she screamed again........
Theo!! Watch out!!!........

Hope pulled him down just as a giant killer shark leaped over their raft, jaws open & determined to grab Theo.  Its tail knocked them both into the ocean, as a wave crashed & plummeted Hope & Theo 18 feet down.  Somehow Hope had the paddle in her right hand as she floated up to the surface.  She spun around, looking frantically through the dark moonlit waters for Theo, but wide-open jaws full of teeth filled her vision.  She pulled the paddle up in front of her and waited.  Then just a foot from the menacing  creature, Hope shoved the paddle deep into its hungry throat. The shark recoiled in pain and snapped its jaws shut on the paddle just as Hope pulled her hand out.
But she wasn't fast enough.......razor sharp teeth ripped the skin off her fingers as she barely saved her hand.

Out of nowhere, Hope felt Theo's strong arms wrap around her chest & pull her up and away from the thrashing shark.  In seconds they shot up into the moonlit night and gasped for breath, together.

The waters were calming & Hope clung to Theo and began sobbing.......
I can't do this anymore Theo!!  I can't fight anymore.  This ocean is a monster, and I'm scared.  I'm exhausted!!  He saw her blood all over his hands and arms.  There was no sight of the raft but somehow they were close to a small cove of the island.

It's ok!!  Shhhhh!!  We're almost home!!
Theo said to her. Wrap your arms around my neck and lay on my back; I'll swim us to shore. We should be there in 20 minutes.
Hope did as he said, and had no idea how Theo could keep both of them afloat as he swam.

But somehow he did.

20 minutes later, Theo's feet touched the sandy bottom of the cove.  He lifted Hope into his arms & soon walked up onto the shore.  She cried softly, as her tears fell on Theo's chest.  They were soaking wet as a cool breeze brought Hope shivers.  Hope tried to stop crying, she knew Theo was exhausted and didn't need an emotional woman to further upset him.
But she was a shipwreck of emotions, that just wouldn't stop.

She looked up at palm tree leaves swaying peacefully overhead.  Theo laid Hope under a grove of tropical trees and wrapped her hands in dry palm tree leaves, then held her as he leaned against a tree.

Hope closed her eyes and quietly sobbed.
She replayed Theo's words in her mind......,
'We're almost home'.  They had protected and encouraged each other the entire way.
This tall, strong young man was now a treasure in Hope's heart.  She couldn't have made it to the island without him.  He refused to give up.
But Theo had little experience with the tears of a young woman.  His mother would tell him to be patient with her, she needs to get all the tears out.  Then she would return to him, strong and fearless.   But Theo's mom was not here, and he had no idea what to do for Hope.  Except to hold her, and keep her warm.  He reached down and massaged her feet and calves, trying to warm her.  Theo marveled how soft Hope was.
For such a fearless and strong young woman, she felt sooo nice in his arms.

Theo's thought's shifted; he needed to find shelter, food, and water for Hope. He prayed her fingers wouldn't become infected.  He prayed she would never die and leave him all alone.
Theo was a strong and powerful man, but loneliness would quickly kill him.

How bad do your fingers hurt??  Theo softly asked as he held her tightly to his chest.  She sat on his lap as Theo protected her like a giraffe protects its baby, between its front legs.
Safe and secure.

Theo felt her shivers, and kissed her ear, as Hope turned her head and looked up into his eyes.

You're beautiful!!  Hope whispered.

She kissed him tenderly, and thought of the final moments she was with her father..........

Hope and Theo were exhausted, and soon fell asleep.

Hope's father stood quietly at the entrance of her first dream.  He was a man of few words but was strong as an oak tree.  She ran to him and fell into his powerful embrace. Even death could not quench a father's love for his daughter.

You & Theo made it to the island.  He softly said.

Yes, Papa!!  We made it.  We're home!!
And I love him.  He reminds me of you Papa!!

                               🦋🦋🦋

Amy closed her book app & set down her
I-phone.  She snuggled against Ty.  He was warm and sound asleep.  But his arm pulled Amy close and his hand held her soft breast, his fingers closing around her, and squeezing her several times.........Ty was a man.

Amy sighed, Ty had no idea he squeezed and held Amy's breasts at night.
And yet, she had no intention of telling him, for Amy loved how Ty loved her, even in his sleep.

To be continued.
