Hi!!  My name is Charleste.  Welcome to 'Pizza Palace'!!  What can I get you to drink??

Just waters, these 2 boys are under age & I'm on lunch.  We just have an hour, I think we're ready to order......

Sure go ahead, what would you like?

Well we're going to share a large Hawaiian, and a large Train Wreck.

No that's it, thanks!!  Marty replied.

I can't believe my boss ok'd this crazy scheme!!
Marty laughed.

So you work a 12 hour shift??  Caleb asked.

Yeah, I'm scheduled 3 days, 12 hours each.  But I usually work 5 days.  We're short staffed and I like the overtime.  I'm saving money to buy a few acres in the foothills on the Snake River.  I want to build a fishing cabin.  I like having a place of solitude to escape to.  Me & my dog Charlie like to hike too.

Wow. That sounds amazing!!  Ty said.

Do you live at Heartland Ranch too Caleb??
Marty asked.

No, I have a trailer about a 2 miles away, from
Heartland on 2 acres.  It's pretty rustic, needs a lot of repairs, but it's home.

Marty, how long before I can get back to work do you think, once I'm released to go home??

Ty, that's the doctor's call but I'd guess another week of rest then a slow resumption of work duties.  Lifting anything heavy will be restricted for a while.  But kissing Amy should be just fine!!
She sure is a lovely girl.

So, I have a question for both of you......Ty said.
If you were shipwrecked on a deserted island in the Pacific.  You used a wood door from the ship & paddled to the little island.
What would you do first??
Make a shelter, find food & water, or make a spear in case some mean natives tried to capture you??  Oh and you were like 19
and had a girl from the ship with you. She's a stranger a couple years younger.

Is she pretty??  Caleb asked.

She's beautiful!!  Ty replied.

Wait you boys!! What does it matter if she's pretty or not??  Marty asked with a grin.

Only a girl would ask that kind of a question!!
Caleb replied. They all laughed.
So, here's what I'd do......
It's the man's responsibility to provide for the girl and protect her.  So I'd find her a hiding spot to be safe while I go off hunting for food & water.

Seriously!!  Do you understand all the pitfalls of that scenario!!  What if you get lost and can't find her again, or get hurt, or 3 native's find the girl & haul her away.  How would you know where she's at??  Plus what are you going to use to haul water back to her in.
You're voted off the island!!  Marty said, laughing.

I'm fired!!  Caleb replied with a big grin.

What would you do Ty??  Marty asked.

Ty grew serious & replied......
The biggest danger these two have is somehow ending up alone.  It's loneliness that would kill a person, left on an island for years, or decades.
I'd take her with me, in the story she's smart, determined, and a good problem solver.
Plus I wouldn't leave her alone, to be kept company by her emotions, and sad memories. She's lost her family, and her dreams.  All she has now is the young man.  They'll need each other to survive.  Plus spending every moment together will hasten the bond they'll need to survive.

Marty stared out the window and was quiet.

You ok Marty??  Ty asked......

Yeah, it's pure hell waking up one morning & learning someone you love is gone.
So I agree, the most valuable resource that young couple has.......is each other.
