"want something to eat?" my mom asked

"i'm not hungry"

"you've been home for two weeks and i've barely seen you eat anything"

i sat there not saying anything back to her.

"i get you're scared right now but you need to stay healthy. please just eat some salad or something."

i sighed and agreed to her request. i ate and went up to my room. i wasn't aloud to go out. the police didn't even know i was back. i convinced my mom and dad to not go to the police for matt's safety.

i laid on my bed staring at the ceiling when i got a text from a number i didn't have.

i see you're far from dead. i'll be going after lover boy than coming for you. stay tuned. xx

i bursted out into tears right then and there. i shouldn't have listened to my parents and matt. i should've gone back with him.

i ran downstairs, tears pouring down my face at this point.

"sweetheart, what's wrong?" my mom asked

"he's going to be killed because of me!"

"i'm sorry but he was supposed to kill you. i wasn't letting you go back there."

"he's going to die"

"you've known him for two months"

"fuck you mom"

i ran upstairs back into my room. i paced back and forth. i need to go see matt. i knew exactly where his house was. i went back downstairs, grabbed my keys and ran out of the house.

i pulled up at the familiar house and parked my car. i ran to the door, knocking on it. i could hear burnie barking inside. the door opened revealing a blonde girl. i could practically feel my heart shattering.

"hi" she said "can i help you with something?"

"uh, i was just looking for matt but i guess this isn't a good time."

"i'll go get him."

"no really it's fine"

i smiled at her and turned around. tears immediately fell out of my eyes.

"hannah?" i heard matt's voice "hannah wait up!"

but i kept running.
