hannah

i slowly opened my eyes. i was still sitting on the couch with matt. he was already awake.

"good morning han. how did you sleep?"

"good" i smiled "did you sleep at all? you look tired."

"not really. i was just a little freaked out about a phone call i got"

"what was it about?"

"it was mr. davis" he said

"oh"

i started getting nervous and matt could tell. i sat up and went to get off the couch but matt grabbed my hand pulling me back down.

"hey, please don't be scared. i promised i'd protect you so that's what i'm gonna do."

"i don't get how you've managed to make me feel so scared but then so safe."

"i understand that. please just know if you choose me, if you choose to be with me, i'm gonna make you feel safe all the time."

"i'm just scared"

"i know but i don't do this shit. i'm doing it because i owe mr. davis money. i don't like hurting people."

"if i decide i want to be with you, what happens then? where do we go from here?"

"we can move away from here"

"matt you don't understand, my parents are here. i miss them a lot."

"i'll take you to see them"

"are you serious?" i asked

"i want you to be happy princess. i'm going to have to explain to your parents what's going on but i'll figure a way to make it work."

"matt, this means so much to me you don't even understand."

matt smiled and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. he bit his lip.

"i want to kiss you so bad right now" he said

"then do it"

matt took no time placing his lips on mine. they moved perfectly in sync. this boy had an effect on me that i couldn't shake off.

we pulled up in front of my house. my parents' cars were parked in the drive way. matt handed me a pair of sunglasses and put a pair on himself. he didn't want anyone in the area recognizing me and calling the cops.

we walked up to the door and i knocked. we patiently waited a few minutes before my mom opened the door. her eyes lit up and she instantly recognized me.

"hannah, baby oh my god"

"hi mom" i cried

"listen we need to go inside so we can talk this situation out." matt interrupted

"you stole her. you stole my hannah. david call the police!" she yelled to my dad

"no mom, he's trying to help me please."

my mom sighed letting us both into the house. we sat on the couch and my dad ran in the room. he attacked me in a hug and then took a seat across from matt and i. i took a breath and explained them the whole story.

"matt wants to help me, he cares about me." i spoke

"you don't have to go back with him. just stay." my dad replied

"no he'll kill matt"

"sweetie" my mom said

"no mom i can't"

"hannah they're right" matt interrupted

"matt, stop. don't even say that."

"can i have a minute alone with hannah?" matt asked

my parents nodded and got up leaving us alone.

"you're gonna stay here with your parents" matt spoke

"no i'm not. he's going to come after you."

"i don't care. you need to be safe hannah."

he got up and started walking to the door. i ran after him and grabbed his arm.

i held onto him and started crying.

"han you can't do this"

"this morning you were trying to get me to be with you."

"i still want that. i'll figure away to get mr. davis out of our lives and then i'll come back for you."

i wrapped my arms around his waist and cried.

"mr. and mrs. scott" he called my parents

they came in and matt started pulling me off him. my mom wrapped her arms around me and pulled me off of him.

"i'm sorry han. i'll come back, i promise"

with that he walked out the door. i was screaming his name and crying. i struggled and got out of her grip and ran after him. i caught up with him right before he got in the car. i wrapped my arms around him and he hugged back.

"all you've been saying is how you want to be home and now you want to come back with me."

"i don't want something bad to happen to you because of me."

"i'll be fine. i'll come back when it's safe for you to be in my life, okay?"

"promise?"

"i promise. now get back inside."
