matt

the ride to north carolina was long and dreadful. i just wanted to get there and see hannah. we pulled up in front of the house where the call was traced too.

"you need to wait in the car, alright?" the officer said

i nodded as the cop left the car. i just wanted her to be okay which i knew she mentally and emotionally wouldn't be after all the shit she went through.

-

i sat in the car for what seemed like hours on end. i finally saw cops walking out of the house with mr. davis in handcuffs. sirens came up behind the police car and i looked out the back to see an ambulance. a female officer came over and opened the door.

"we have the man in custody. we're looking for hannah."

"what do you mean looking for her?" i asked

"they're searching the house for her. the minute we have her i'll come and get you."

i got out of the car and walked up to the officers who were holding mr. davis.

"you're sick. you're a sick horrible person" i spat

"matt go back to the car." one of the officers commanded me

rather than start a fight with the officers i shut my mouth and got back in the car.

i waited and waited for over an hour for someone to come talk to me. finally the same female officer from before came and opened the door.

"we found hannah"

"oh my god, is she okay?"

"she isn't in good condition. i'm not sure you should see her."

"i need to see her" i said

"are you sure?"

"yes"

"alright follow me"

she led me into the house. the house was huge on the inside no wonder it took them so long to find her. we finally got to where she was.

her small, frail body laid out on a stretcher as the paramedics strapped her on.

"jesus hannah"

she turned her head and looked at me. i saw tears on her face. the paramedics began carrying the stretcher out and i followed right behind them.

"matt" she cried

"i'm right here han"

they pulled her up into the ambulance and they let me get in the back with her. i sat down on the small bench and she grabbed my hand. she began breathing really heavily. the paramedics put an oxygen mask on her face. i could tell she was in a lot if pain. i talked to her the whole way to the hospital to try and keep her mind off the pain but it wasn't working. when we got there they took her in. a female nurse stopped me.

"are you family?" she asked

"no but-"

"family only"

one of the officers who i had come to north carolina with came over.

"her family is out of state and he's the closest thing she has to family right now"

"i really don't know" the nurse said

hannah was still in view and i could hear her crying.

"matt" she practically sobbed

"alright you can go"

i thanked the nurse and ran catching up to hannah.

"i'm here, don't worry"

-

i sat next to her bed, watching her sleep. she was connected to machines that were making beeping noises and she had IVs in her arm. i held her hand as she slept. she started shifting around in bed and cries escaped her lips. i shook her shoulders attempting to wake her up.

"i'm sorry! please don't hit me again, please." she screamed

"hannah, you're safe. you're in the hospital baby."

she snapped out of it realizing that she was safe.

"you're alright" i wiped a tear off her face

"where are my parents?" she asked

"in virginia"

"where am i?"

"north carolina"

"i wanna go home"

"i know baby. you gotta recover some. your parents are coming though. they'll be here first thing in the morning."

"where is he?"

"they have him in jail. they're obviously is gonna be an official trial to sentence him but he isn't gonna hurt you anymore. now get back to sleep. i'll be right by your side if you need anything."

"thank you for everything, matt"
