The Whole Truth

I just really wanted to write this before WAD premieres.

Mattholomule POV(2 days after Gus's birthday)~

Today was the day.

Gus and I had been steadily growing closer since he came back and needed to get this off of my chest.

I love him, and I can't hide it anymore. I hope that he might even like me a little. If he doesn't then I might ruin our friendship but I know that Gus is way too sweet for that. I crawl out of bed detangling myself from the sheets carefully so as to not wake Gus.

I walk out to the castle garden assuring everything is ready for tonight. I see Luz, already there setting up glyphs and fairy lights. I use what little plant magic I know to grow large blue lily's around the perimeter and then in a bunch. I knew from a while back that they were his favorite.

I knew that it was going to be hard to come out and say it so I have a letter prepared to hand to him. It read,

Dear Agustus Porter,

I have known something was special about you since the day we met. I didn't realize this then but I had a crush on you. From the days I spent alone to the ones that you were near, I found that crush had grown into something more.

Gus, I love you and I would be honored to have you as my boyfriend.

Consider it?

Though it was short it has all I wanted to say. After prepping for long enough I went to help Boshca and Camila make lunch.

Gus POV~

I walked into the dining hall for lunch and saw Matty for the first time today. He was setting the table just so, and helping with the food at the same time. I could tell that he had put some work into his appearance today and it paid off.

He had winged eyeliner from Amity and a bit of brown eyeshadow. He also got his hair trimmed slightly but only to make it look neater, meaning his hair was up in a ponytail. He got a new hair tie with pearls on it that went with the single pearl on a choker we found after also stopping at his house 2 days prior.

I had never noticed before but he had pierced ears and there were now metal chains hanging off of them as well as diamond studs. If I hadn't been whipped before, I sure was now. Suddenly he looked up his gaze piercing me. His eyes shone golden brown with flecks of dark green.

"I know I look good but staring without saying anything is rude." He stated matter-of-factly while going back to help with lunch. 

I knew I looked flustered and I got so worked up that I fell out of my chair. Matt must have heard because he rushed in to help me up.

"OhMyTitan Gus, are you okay? What happened?" Matt asked as he lifted me, losing his cool demeanor.

Boshca then walked in and we realized what position we were in/ I was clinging onto Matt for dear life while he held me bridal style.

After staring for a while she grabbed her scroll to take a picture.

Matt carefully set me down after checking that I was okay, eyes lingering at my lips a little longer than necessary before rushing off and shouting curses at Boshca.
