Human Rain

Mattholomule POV~

I know that many people go far in life seeking good things, and some never find them. If you take a look around, you might be in a rough spot but you also could have friends and family there to help you out.

I found my happiness and he would always be by my side. All good things have to come to an end eventually but I found love, which never fades.

"Matty!" I received a call from Gus who was downstairs in our newly acquired apartment, as I was 16 and Gus was 15, making it legal to live like this in the boiling isles.

It was the day he was going to take me to the Human Realm for a date. I rushed to close the journal I was scribbling in and ran out the door.

I sought out Gus who was standing outside bouncing on his heel. I ran up to him and picked him up in surprise. In one quick motion, we were now a few feet in the air as I could now transform almost effortlessly.

He squeaked before he himself grew a pair of wings and became too much for me to carry. We raced through the air watching the almost completed reconstruction of the boiling isles.

We reached the portal, hiding our wings and using spells to mask our ears.

I clasped Gus's hand in mine and we walked through.

Gus POV~

The sun was shining and yet it was raining. I had mapped out the weather perfectly.

Matt stared in awe looking at me for permission to see if it really didn't boil. I nodded and he reached out.

"I've always dreamed of seeing Human Rain..." He mumbled to himself.

Then I scooped him up and planted a kiss on his forehead before dropping Matt back on the ground and running down the street, wanting him to follow me to the zoo.

We really did it. We made it out all those years ago.

And this was our reward.
