Mattholomule POV~

I ran as far as my legs would take me, my breathing was now ragged and there was no path ahead of me to run onto. A cliff met me, towering high above. I knew I had enough energy yet to make my way up and so I mustered all of my strength and sure enough, shot into the air like a rocket. The amount of force I used was unneeded so I passed my destination and then proceeded to land like a feather.

I hadn't noticed before but hot, sorrowful tears had bubbled up and were sliding down my face.

This cliff level had many trees, calling to me. And so I ran further, feeling renewed purpose to get out of Gus's life and not cause him more pain.

Then I heard a voice.

"So, you wish to run, to never see your loved ones again? All of my work for nothing?"

"Huh? W-who are you?" I stammered.

"I am you, an extension of you-  then a shadowy figure looking exactly as I did now sat in front of me. It was the one who has been watching me and who had attacked me.- I know what you were going to do that day, the day I attacked you. You wanted to end it all there. I saved you. I immobilized you and sent out a distress signal. If it weren't for me you wouldn't be here. I had been watching and now that you had found your rightful place beside the other heir you have turned. Beware of the one you know as Gus. Like you, he has a hidden face that won't show without you. He has a dark side, but know he would never harm you."

"If you care so much about me then why did you let me get tortured by Bria?"

"That is a lesson for another time, all things happen with a plan, and your time will come to pass as a being with more power than most know to do with."

With that, the shadowy me blew away with the soft summer breeze.

In stunned silence, I sat until I heard my name being called by Gus.

Slowly getting up, almost automatically I walked toward the noise. it was like I was hypnotized.

Then I saw him. He looked like a wreck.

"Matty!" he gave an anguished cry and collapsed into my arms. It had been hours and I'm sure it wasn't easy getting up here.

"Gus... don't you hate me?" I whispered.

"Matty, the book said you could only make people fall for you after making the bond," Gus said laughing and crying at the same time. "I thought I lost you!"

I started doing the same as him grateful that I still have somebody to rely on. As we were both tired we sat down by a tree.

Then we heard maniacal laughter.

Gus POV~

Come onnnn.

I don't want to deal with her today.

Bria walked out into the light.

"So, it seems one of the freaks got even freakier." She cackled, seeming unafraid of what he could do,

Suddenly I could sense a burning anger from Mattholomule.

"What did you call us?" Matt said in a low warning tone.

"Freaks." Bria replied innocently, still not hearing the warning.

"You could have called me that but I will not let you get away with calling Gus names."

Suddenly Matt seemed to tower over Bria, looking almost like he had talons reaching to pin her.

Without even touching her though, she was moved to hang in the air.

Matty's voice was more distorted and dangerous the next time he spoke, almost not sounding like him.

"You dared to hurt him, you bullied me into being your slave and you fucking raped me. I am 14 Bria. Fucking 14. I get that you are 16 but that does not mean you get to take something away from me like that."

My eyes widened like saucers. What? I knew he said Bria had done more than just physically abuse him but this?

Right then Matty grabbed Bria, who was now crying and screaming trying to escape his grasp, and flew. Where? You may ask, well, to the top of the tallest tree in view. Then he took the back of her shirt and hung her there. No, she was not harmed, for Matt was not cruel enough to sink to her level, but she was simply stuck.

Matt swooped gracefully down to the clearing like he had been born with wings and grabbed me bridal style, carrying me through the air, to the top of the castle, just in time for a beautiful sunset.

Gotta admit though, Matt is kinda hot when he's mad.
