A Dream During Day

There's Only one Star. And her name is...

"Ready girls, let's go! Come on in!" Miss Abby calls us in. "Well you thought you were going home after Lake Tahoe. And here we are back in L.A. I have a big surprise and it's very exciting. But before I get into that, you notice there's no pyramid, yes?"

We all clap.

"Everybody is in a straight line. Cause here in L.A, it's not really about the talent, it's about the look"

"I'm ready to talk about the surprise"

I grab Maddie's hand anxiously.

"You are going to get the opportunity to audition for a major music video"

We all scream. We all pull each other into a group hug.

"I don't know who's gonna get it, I don't know if it'll be one of you or all of you. Tomorrow instead of a rehearsal, we will be having a class. I'm going to teach a hip hop combination since that audition is hip hop" Miss Abby looks at me. "Hadley!"

I make a weird face. "Yes?" I giggle.

"You went to an audition, correct?"

"Yeah"

"And what happened?"

"I signed in and got a random number, stretched, learned the combination in a few minutes then auditioned with it, I acted a script and sang"

"So can you go more into depth on the dancing you did?"

I nod and look at the floor. "Well we got split into groups, some people were of age and height. And um, we performed it once as a group then they had some do it like, individually"

"And that's exactly what's gonna happen at this audition ladies!" Miss Abby smiles.

"Ladies let's go! Look at the dance studio's right there, see the letters IDA. You can see it. Come on, hustle up! Lets go."

I'm not nervous at all because I went to an audition a few weeks ago and it was easy lemon squeezy.

"Alright, squeeze on in ladies" A woman welcomes us in. It was really loud inside, it was crazy. We walked into the room to audition.

"So make sure you pay attention. Ok, so your timing is one, two, three, and four, five six seven, and eight"

Maddie and I practiced together. "Ok if we forget a move just whisper it" Maddie tells me. I nod my head and smile.

"Ok from the top! Five, six , seven and eight. Go switch, drop, pull, switch switch, pull pull, and up down!"

I saw Kenzie frowning from the corner of my eyes, she looked like she was about to cry.

"What's wrong Kenz?" I ask bending down. She just shakes her head seeing the cameras coming over.

"Do you know it?" Brooke asks her. Mackenzie shakes her head lightly.

"Are you all right back here?" The man comes back and asks Kenzie.

"No," Mackenzie softly says.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

"I don't know it" Kenzie's voice breaks.

"You don't know it? That's ok.  Do as much as you can, okay? I want you to try it as much as you can. Don't worry about it" He pats her head and walks away. Kenzie hides her face in her hands.

"Kenzie, come here" I whisper to her and wave her over. I grab her hands. "I'll whisper the moves for you, ok?"

She nods my head and I wipe her tears. "It's ok Kenzie" I wrap and arm around her. We auditioned in the room and they talked right in front of us.
