A Dream During Day

Brooke's Back!

"Chloe, can you French braid my hair?" I asked, taking it out of the boring ponytail my mom put it in.

"Yeah. Two or one?" Chloe asked, her hands moving quickly.

"Two," I nodded, impressed by how fast she was.

"Holy cow, you are quick!" I exclaimed.

"I know," Chloe flipped her hair, and we all giggled.

"Nia, I really wanna have a duet with you," I groaned, leaning on her shoulder.

"Me too, but I doubt Miss Abby will let you," Nia replied.

"Yeah, you're just too good to dance with me," I nodded.

"Girls! Let's go get in here!" Miss Abby yelled into the den, interrupting our conversation.

"I wonder who's gonna be on top," Maddie whispered to me.

"Why is Payton here?" Paige whispered.

"I don't know," I shrugged.

"I'd like to take this time to welcome Kendall. You are officially a member of the Abby Lee Dance Company!" Miss Abby announced.

"Yay!" I hugged Kendall with the group. I was so happy Kendall was on the team!

"Now, we are going to Star Bound dance competition in Long Island, New York," Miss Abby announced.

"Oh boy," I groaned.

"Ugh," Maddie added. That competition was super hard.

"I'll tell you what. They wanna beat the Abby Lee Dance Company, and they are serious. They're like sharks in the water, they can taste the blood," Miss Abby said, her voice serious.

"Alright, now. Mackenzie, you did well with your solo the last time. You need to do even better with it this time," Miss Abby continued, her eyes fixed on Mackenzie.

"Nia, you were chosen for a special part, but your mother took it away. Not a lot to say," Miss Abby concluded, leaving us all wondering what would happen next.

"Next, Paige. You didn't do a solo, you didn't do a duet or trio so there wasn't a lot to judge you on."

"Kendall. You're off probation, you're a member of the team. However, we need to fix the feet, we need to fix the turnout, the back of the knees. You still have a lot of work ahead of you honey"

"Moving on, Maddie." Miss Abby starts. "You won your category, but I have to keep challenging you."

Maddie nods sadly. I don't know why Payton was ahead of her though? Cause Maddie still won.

"And now, Chloe. You did well in the group and well in your solo"

"And next I have, Hadley" Miss Abby reveals the headshot. Maddie Chloe and I look at each other confused.

"Hadley. You won your category, you won the overall high score, and did wonderful in the group." Miss Abby says. I just nod slowly.

"And on top of the pyramid." Miss Abby says. Payton starts laughing and smiling. "Is Brooke"

My jaw dropped so fast. We all screamed as Brooke walked in. I jumped into her arms as fast as I possibly could.

After we finished hugging Brooke, we noticed Payton crying. So we walked over and hugged her.

"I know you all are wondering, how could she be on top of the pyramid? Not only is she doing a solo and not only should she win, I demand you win" Miss Abby tells Brooke.

"Payton, we all know everyone is replaceable. You were not the right replacement for this group. You had a great experience, you can not be upset" Miss Abby tells her.
