FRED'S POV:

Philadelphia, August 25, 1988

Today is the day.

Can you believe it?!

At first, I thought that nine months would take forever, but that wasn't the case.

In the blink of an eye, life flashed and now I would soon be holding my baby in my arms in just a few hours.

I am so excited to know if it's a boy or a girl, and I cannot wait to meet them!

I can't wait to watch them grow up.

I can't wait to watch them do great things in life.

Now that I think about it, I really don't want them to grow up.

I have fallen in love with this baby and even though I have to let them grow and I have to let them do their own thing, I still want them to be my baby.

I'm just so excited.

I can't wait to hold them.

But first, one thing I definitely cannot wait for is to get them out of me.

Yeah, I love my little bean, well not so little anymore.

But my back has been killing me and I can't seem to do much anymore.

Either because I physically can't or because Eric isn't letting me.

And I just feel useless.

And that is driving me to the edge of insanity.

But today is the day.

I slowly got up and made my way over to the bathroom.

There I saw Eric in the bathroom, brushing his teeth.

He quickly spat out the toothpaste before turning to look at me.

"My two favorite people! Morning!"

"Morning."

I said as I rubbed my eyes, yawning a bit.

It was probably around 5 am, I was scheduled for my c-section at 9 am. Why am I waking up two hours before I actually need to? Because I need time to actually wake up.

I know me. And this baby has been stealing a lot of my energy, and I really need it today.

"How are you in a good mood?"

I asked as I walked to his other side to grab my toothbrush and toothpaste.

"I love you too my dear husband."

"Sorry."

I said as I leaned up and puckered my lips a bit.

He smiled and leaned down, his lips meeting mine.

"I'm in a good mood, because today, we are having a baby."

He said.

I nervously laughed.

"Scared?"

He asked.

"Very."

"Everything will be just fine. You'll see. Little bean will be back home in no time."

"I know. I'm just scared and really excited to meet little bean."

"Me too. But right now, let's get ready. You finish brushing, I'll get the coffee started."

"You're an absolute lifesaver. This is why I married you."

He laughed.

I'm lucky to have him.
