ERIC'S POV:
February 23, 1990, Philadelphia
I walked into the kitchen, letting out a loud yawn.
I was met with Fred's voice, hearing his baby voice. He was probably playing with Christopher.
A smile grew on my face as I thought about them.
My favorite people.
There was a strong smell of coffee in the air.
"Thank God."
I mumbled as I quickly made my way over to the coffee machine.
There was some nice warm coffee in the pot.
I took a minute to inhale the smell before reaching over to get a coffee mug.
I served some coffee in the mug before adding a bit of sugar.
Once I had my coffee, I walked over to the living room. I figured they were there since the noise seemed to be coming from there.
And I was right.
I saw Fred tickling Christopher's stomach, and Chris just laughing and babbling a little.
He is starting to speak a lot more. He will be two years old this August. God, has it been two years?
I think I'm starting to agree with Fred on this one. I miss having a baby here.
Maybe we can try later. Plus I don't want Christopher to grow up as an only child, from what Fred tells me, it's boring.
"Morning."
I said as I walked over to the couch.
Fred was sitting on the floor, leaning back on the couch, Chris on his back laughing away
"Morning, love."
Fred said as he looked over at me.
I sat down, placing my coffee on the small table we had in the space.
I leaned over.
"How'd you sleep?"
I asked.
"Surprisingly good, considering we didn't get much sleep."
Chris had a lot of nightmares last night and kept waking us up. Fred would have his turn, I would have my turn. So we hardly slept but somehow we are still functioning.
"You?"
He asked as he turned his attention back on Chris who started to sit up.
"Ok."
Fred kept his hand close just in case but still gave Chris the freedom to do it on his own.
Once Chris sat down between Fred's legs, he, Fred, turned to look up at me.
"Kiss?"
He asked as he playfully pouted his bottom lip.
I smiled.
I leaned over and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
"Mmm, that's better."
He mumbled.
I smiled and pecked his lips one last time before pulling away.
Christopher cooed a little.
Fred turned his attention back to Chris.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, my mom is coming over later for dinner."
My smile dropped and my head lowered a little at the mention of Hilda, Fred's mother.
