Although the cave had been silent for who knows how long, it was currently filled with the echoes of the bickering between a certain male decked out in a white suit and another male who had adorned an all black outfit.

"Careful there love, you might hurt yourself." Xiazi instructed and Xiao Hua listened. He didn't know when or how it started, but somewhere along the way, Xiazi had started calling him 'love'. He should have hated it but instead, Xiao Hua warmed up to the name.

If I reject this name, God knows what he might call me next. Baby? Honey? Darling?

Xiao Hua seemed a little too lost in this thought and ended up tripping over a rock. He was too casual in his stepping and didn't have much time to react, so his partner did in his stead.

Xiazi held Xiao Hua by the waist, steading the clumsy male in his strong arms. He easily brought Xiao Hua to his feet but he forgot to calculate the distance between them. As soon as Xiao Hua was back on his feet and he turned around to thank Xiazi, he froze in place.

They were so close that their noses touched!

Xiao Hua's breath hitched as he stared into the shades Xiazi always wore, hoping to see the true colours of his eyes. Xiazi however only smirked at his second master.

He is quite cute for someone who acts so high and mighty.

"You planning to stare at me the entire day love?" Xiazi asked, his words wrapped in playfulness to tease the younger.

It was extremely effective on Xiao Hua who immediately separated himself from Xiazi. He coughed to chase away his embarrassment but couldn't hide the dark blush on his cheeks that extended up to his ears.

"T-That's not it, I was wondering how someone can be so confident when they look this ugly." Xiao Hua said in a hurry, as he desperately tried to regain his composure.

Xiazi held back a laugh as he feigned a look of extreme hurt.

"That was cruel love. I am so sick of this fake love~." Xiazi sang out and the latter loosened up. This guy really understood how to calm 'The Xiao Hua' in a matter of a few days.

"Shut up and let's continue searching for clues." Xiao Hua said and the latter obliged.

They walked for a considerable amount of times, trying to decipher the meanings of the murals on the walls. They also saw a number of bird-like statues on every turn they came across.

"What are you thinking love?" Xiazi asked as he looked at the deep frown in the effortlessly beautiful face of the latter.

"These murals....they don't make any sense. Look. This mural represents a woman in a royal outfit kneeling down to what looks like a commoner. Shouldn't it be the other way around? And why are the others serving this commoner? Is he someone from royalty in disguise? But then, if his identity revealed, why is he still wearing peasant clothing?" Xiao Hua asked, gliding his hands over the mural delicately so as to not damage it. He felt in a sting in his eyes and rubbed them, drawing tears at how hard he rubbed them. He blinked as the world seemed a little darker to him and focused hia attention back to the unusual mural.

"He is this woman's lover." Xiazi answered and Xiao Hua looked at him in shock. The older urged the younger to stay silent as he moved closer to the mural.

"Look at the facial expression of the woman love. Desperate and the longing in her eyes, although not depicted that realistically, in visible. She is in love with this man and is doing everything she can in her power to convince the man for marriage. She is the Mother of Demons, Lilith, ever heard of her?" Xiazi asked as the younger shook his head. It was rare of Xiao Hua to be unaware of a situation and he had his eyes locked onto the older, waiting for him to continue further.
