“What's going on?! Why can't I see anything?!” Yuchen yelled as his anxiety started to get the best of him. The world seemed too dark for his liking and he thrashed his hands around wildly in pure fear and panic.

“Calm down love. We'll think of some way to get your eyes bac to normal, till then please calm yourself down. You know panicking won't help, right?” Xiazi said as he grasped Xiao Hua's hands, trying his utmost best to comfort the younger and calm him down. Taking his words in, Yuchen took in deep breaths to stable his breathing and brought his mind back on track.

He is right. Panicking will get me nowhere close to solving this issue. I need to think calmly and clearly.

After his breathing was back to normal, Yuchen tightened his grip on Xiazi's hand as he gave a soft nod.

“I am trusting you to guide me till I find a way to back to normal, but first tell me. Are you okay?” Yuchen asked and Xiazi smiled softly. Even though he himself was not okay, he still didn't put himself first.

“I am fine love, worry about yourself first.” Xiazi said as he pecked the younger’s forehead. He interlocked their fingers in a firm hold and started walking further, explaining every mural he came across, describing it in each and every detail. He knew the younger paid attention to each and every detail, even the insignificant ones, so he left nothing as ‘unimportant’ and continued.

“I am tired, can we take a break lo-” Xiazi's ears perked up but Xiao Hua coughed before he could complete his sentence. He panicked as he realized what he was about to say.

Was I really about to call him LOVE?!

What was that? Come on complete the sentence, don't leave me hanging.” Xiazi teased as the latter’s cheeks burst into a bright shade of red.

“I-its nothing! Let’s just take a brake here and get some rest.” Yuchen said in a hurry. He swore he could hear Xiazi chuckle and it subconciously brought a small smile to his lips. He liked it when the latter was happy.

“Sure love, sit here.” Xiazi said as he guided Xiao Hua to a safe spot to sit, not forgetting to clean the area so as to not ruin his beautiful white suit.

Xiazi always thought that it was a very odd choice of clothing for a task that would definitely require getting dirty, (not that way), but it made the younger look pretty so he didn't really mind although he did think numerous times that his Hua'er would look amazing in an all black outfit that would make his milky white skin stand out even more. And taking it off would-

Too much thinking for today.

He sat the younger down carefully and when he took a step back, the stone went down and loud clank was heard.

Crap! I might have triggered a trap! That rhymed. NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THAT!

Xiazi panicked as he glanced over to Yuchen who was now in alert mode, hand on his dagger as he tried hard to listen to any unusual sounds.

Drip...drip....drip....

Water? Am I hearing things now?

Dismissing it as a figment of his imagination, Yuchen stood up cautiously as he drew out his dagger.

“Xiazi, did you hear that too or-”
Yuchen cut his sentence mid sentence when he felt water right above where his shoes ended. It was an uncomfortable feeling as the water seeped into his shoes, making his socks wet and icky. He hated wet socks more than anything.

“Xiazi! Where are you?” Yuchen called out but heard no response. This was odd, Xiazi never stayed quiet. Yuchen blinked hard in hopes of getting his vision back but everything was as a dark as a moonless night.

“Hua'er...run......” Xiazi’s voice sounded weakly, as if he was badly injured. Yuchen twirled around his heels wildly, thrashing the water that had already reached his knees. He had no idea where he should run and what the cave even looked like.

“Hua’er, run.....to your left....”

“No! I am not gonna leave you here all alone, what happened to you? Why do you sound so weak?” Yuchen asked as he tried hard to figure out where Xiazi’s voice was coming from, to locate and find him.

“There is.....a.....siren here.....you...must get to.......higher grou-” Xiazi's voice was cut off by intense splashing of water and muffled screams.

HE WAS BEING DROWNED!

Yuchen felt helpless as he couldn't do anything and tears of frustration started building up in his eyes. He desperately wanted to save the older but he couldn't even see his own hand. The world was turning darker than ever and he felt as if his hands were chained, rendering him useless in such a dire situation.

“Xiazi....” A soft cry left Yuchen’s lips when suddenly the thrashing stopped and he heard Xiazi coughing violently. The water level was also receding but Yuchen was completely clueless on what was happening around him.

“Xiazi! Are you okay?!”

“So my dearest cousin can worry for others huh?”

“Wu Xie?!”
