The next day

Clarion got up and got ready to make her rounds

"I'll stop in Tinker's nook first. Maybe Mary will talk to me." Clarion said to herself

Clarion heads for Tinker's Nook. when she gets there she sees Mary's second-in-command, Jazzlyn

"Fairy Mary told me there was a massive disaster last night. What happened?" asked Clarion

"Cheese scared the thistles and chased them right through here. The garden fairies were able to calm the thistles before they could get out of the nook but the damage had already been done here."

"How long do you expect repairs to take?"

"At least four weeks but most likely more than that."

"How will this affect the preparations for summer?"

"As far as I'm concerned it won't but I suggest you talk to Fairy Mary about that."

"I actually came by to talk to her anyway."

"Fairy Mary?" Jazzlyn knocks on the door "The princess would like a word with you."

"Tell her I'm busy!" spat Mary

"Could you give us some privacy?" Clarion asked Jazzlyn.

"Sure. I have work to do anyway." Jazzlyn flies off.

"Mary, come out. Please. I want to talk to you."

Mary opens the door.

"Oh so now you want to talk! Well, I got news for you princess! I! DON'T! CARE!!!"

Mary slams the door to her office

"You know what Mary, fine. You don't want to talk then don't talk, just know this I'm your best friend and I'm always here for you. I realize that I haven't been the best friend lately and I'm sorry. Whenever you're ready to talk, I'll be ready to listen. I should go. I have a lot of work to do today." Clarion flies off thinking to herself

"Well, that was a disaster that definitely did not go as planned. Next stop, Springtime Square." When Clarion gets to spring she sees Hyacinth the minister of spring coming toward her. "Oh no," she whispered under her breath. She knew Hyacinth all too well. She knew that he was going to clumsily attempt to ask her out for the 100th time (Clarion kept a running record in her head) and she was going to have to make up some lame reason to leave. She was already brainstorming her excuse.

"Good morning princess," said Hyacinth

"Good morning minister, Lovely day for a fly isn't it?"

"Yes, I suppose it is. What are you doing here princess, shouldn't you be in summer?"

"Oh, I'm just out making my rounds and thought I'd pop by to check on things over here."

" yes well, things are going splendidly. Did you hear about..." Hyacinth launched into a very long story which Clarion promptly tuned out knowing that it would end in his clumsy attempt to ask her out. She turned her thoughts onto Milori instead. After a few minutes, she tuned her brain back into Hyacinth in case he was asking her a question, and sure enough, he was getting ready to ask her to go out with him

"Anyways princess the real reason I came up to talk to you is that I was wondering if you'd want to-well, would you be open to the idea" stammered Hyacinth. Just then Clarion heard someone calling her name

"Princess Clarion!" it was Sunflower, the minister of summer

"Good morning Sunflower."

"Hyacinth I'm terribly sorry to interrupt but I have an urgent matter that I must discuss with the princess immediately."
